ok i found the note implicating that the mayor did it, now he is in prison so where is the axe? im not really sure where to start looking and he is the last person before i become divine...i think <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mage.gif" alt="" />

The axe is on the second level of the mines, a room south then west of where you got the letter. Dwarven mine, level 2
