When I first reached her, she had the improvement books but she has not had them at any level-up since.

Is this by design or something that will be patched in due course?

Same for me, she only had it the first time i was there. Problem is, I didn't buy them then - but they are not available anymore. Is this also by design? That I must carry 20K gold pieces at this first and only possibility?

Sorry, Aguds - I'm afraid I can't really help. It's not by design by any means; it's a bug of sorts. I know there were people with the same problem as you, but I thought this had been patched.

If it's any consolation, you should be able to get two tomes later on. Think dusky parchments.
