Soliders and Elven guards at the Archers Guild will kill thugs Orcs and Spiders and even snakes this is often usful if your character is not yet tough enough to fight since running to them (guards soliders) will often help you out of a jam .

So why oh why will no one kill the accursed Boars ? even if the boar is running around causing havoc no one will kill it.

also why do some enimies chase you so very far? some will give up if you run far enough but others just never seem to stop following you are these things some kind of programming bug?

I've never tried getting help to kill a boar. As for chasing you, some enemies may have less stamina, so have to give up, or their AI has some limit on how long they chase you (to simulate a lower attention span, etc). Also, some creatures may be designed to be territorial, and not stray too far from their original location. Undead may be stupid/single minded enough to follow you forever, and others may try to catch up as long as you remain in their sight range, but this could also be a bug.

That sounds likely to be right at least in somme cases orcs would be stupid trolls and thugs bees could be territorial .

Trouble is not only will no one else kill the boars but they are also one of the things that follow you the longest they even follow you into houses and wait for you even if you escape down a hatch never seen a game with such a persistent enemy before. thats what made me think the Boars were bugged since they are one of the few that pusue you almost anywhere and for any amount of time and also they were the only enemy that no one else would kill although no one kills bees either.

When different enemies respond differently--ie. some chase you and some don't that is actually a nice touch and makes the game more interesting imo. If certain enemies are unrelenting in their pursuit that simply makes the game more of a challenge. If you can't handle one of these enemies then teleport out and go back later when you are a higher lvl.

The question is not, Can they reason? nor, Can they talk? but, Can they suffer?
