Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks quest about the dwafven council member

When you look for the dwarven council member- you also open up the stone axe quest. When I was looking for the axe, I talked with the mayor, and - as I guess everybody knows- he asks for some mead.
Now, I solved the quest - by accident actually - as I went down the tunnels and killed the mage and recovered the axe.
As you know there are some walkthroughs on the net, and in one of them it actually says that if you get the mayor drunk, he tells you that the axe is in the tunnels.
As I have looked in nearly all the inns and havent found any mead, I wonder if this walkthrough may be true.
Does anyone have any idea about this ? Can you actually find mead in the game?

mead=sort of wine (if i'm not mistaken made of honey). But you cant find any in the game though <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sad.gif" alt="" />

Mead = water and honey, fermented.

Rimmer has ale, and this ale is what the mayor drinks, cause it's so strong/special etc.

right so I've solved the quest i've found the axe and returned it. but when I go back to get the dwarf he's not there, any one know if this is a glitch or a bug or if I need to look some where else to find him? or how I can fix this problum? also I just downloaded teh lastest patch and now every time I go down a cave or indoor somewhere the music turns to a loude long anoying beeep sound. any one else have this problum?

Check the house just south of the axe monument.

Other people have run into similar sound problems, but I don't remember many specifics. One person upgraded from Windows ME to XP and it went away, I think others turned down the hardware acceleration to fix it, and another re-installed Divinity.

I have bought the bottle of ale from Rimmer and it didn't work to get either the password nor where the axe is hidden...
