I went there. You can even see me basked in that ridiculous blue light, even more so understand who I was.
Went there, arrived in time for DOS2 and left, back to work. Basically, I paid the ticket just for DOS2!
Overall, I was expecting much more but unfortunately Swen had only half an hour and, by his own words, he did not want to reveal lots, especially in light of the PAX. No way I can travel there

However, it can be clearly seen that the UI is much different than in the PCgamer video (it's darker) and locations appear more refined, in terms of graphic style. Characters are still infuriatingly toon-like, but I guess for most people this was part of the original charm. I personally hate that toonish appearance, but who knows, maybe a middle ground will be found. I can't wait to see how FINAL graphics look like.
He did say a number of interesting things never heard before: like, Elves depictions and their capabilities, and a couple of interesting new insights on game play which are absolutely amazing (apparently DOS2 has now turned a little bit into Metal Gear, which I like.
I also don't think my tier includes the lore book, now I want it damn. Maybe Larian could put a digital only copy as a cheap add-on?
I wanted to ask a nasty question "Why should we wait for your game instead of simply getting Dragon Age origins since the core concepts come straight from there?" but ultimately did not have the balls to LOL and no Alpha date dammit!
And, honestly, he's a delight to speak with - especially away from the lights. I don't understand why part of the press depicts him in such a bad light. He is a bit brusque, but that is probably just part of a no-nonsense attitude. And he was exceptionally delicate when that person asked him if Larian was hiring...
BTW Swen, being a small studio means that some things are done more slowly, but not more poorly, than bigger ones. Take Bethesda, Skyrim and the Creation kit: lots of wizards and user-friendly interface, ultimately limited when it came to the possibility of doing really revolutionary things (EG new skills, which still have not happened) and HORRENDOUSLY bugged/unstable. Think more like XCOM 2's editor: very unstable and horrendously complicated, but powerful.
Hint, Swen: take the best of it, leave the crap to Bugthesda
