what's the best way to play this game?

I have tried both K & M and the Controller, they both have their ups and downs, IMO but I can't figure out what's the best way to play this game as I keep going back and forth between Controller and K & M.....

I have noticed that controller allows one to AoE search the area and I find character movement with controller preferable over K & M in this game........but I have also noticed that K & M allows greater control over combat strategy specially if you have your party members detached or unchained from each other as it allows you to select out of combat characters and move them around and make them enter the battle when and from where it suits your situation most.....there may be some more differences that I may or may not know about since I am pretty new to this game......

It would be great if someone can shed some light on pros and cons of playing with K & M or a controller.... thanks smile

You can still switch to out of combat characters in the controller UI (left trigger).

KB/M allows you to change the party formations and has hide helmet options. Those options are not available in the controller UI, but you can set them in KB/M mode, save and then switch.

Inventory management is a little easier in the KB/M UI.
With KB/M you can hold Shift to queue commands to move or attack (ie to have a character follow a specific path), which can occasionally be useful. The controller UI makes it easy to target opponents, so you can not miss-click due to idle animations and move when you want to attack (which eliminates one of the uses for being able to queue attacks).

Mouse is the winner.
yes the idle animation missclic issue is there but, still overall better.

Later in the game your inventory will explode by hundreds of items. So juggling with these by controller would be pain in the a.. .
Also some more difficult combats later could be even more challenge with a controller.
Also the marching pattern is not available to change with controller.

You can download my mod ('StandStillWhenIAttack') which addresses the combat idling. Just follow the link below to Nexus if you are interested.
