I have been trying tp upgrade my gear and read you sould save before opening a chest so you can reload the game and try again if the loot in it isn't any good for you.

This doesn't seem to work in the EE as it seems to just give the same loot over and over.

Is this something that changed from the non EE version?

Yes, loot is pretty much fixed upon loading the map in the EE. Now, I haven't tried testing anything, since I'm not interested in cherry picking my loot, but I hear tell that chest inventories may follow trader restock intervals (one game hour or level up).

Unless otherwise specified, just an opinion or simple curiosity.

I been using Lucky Charm to find loot and more money, seems to work really well. You can get 1 from a trait and from boots/shield. It adds to offence rating as well.

Note that lucky charm drops are also fixed upon loading the level and changed at the same time other loot changes. I've noticed that due to some required reloads, where the same containers had the same lucky charm drops.

Aside from that, I agree that Lucky Charm is quite useful. But that's subjective, as one can make enough money through theft and selling useless / outdated loot, or through crafting/smithing.

The extra items help a lot plus the offence rating, I'm using it on a high perception character who's offence rating is lower due to less points in the main attributes then my other characters.
