I think it would be fun for people to share what kind of character they will play as for dos2 So describe your character! Name Race Origin story (I forget can we make our own?) Personality Alignment Backstabbing tendency Beliefs (if any) Have fun!

You can select your own origin; some are specific to individuals, while others would be applicable to any character of a certain race, gender or profession.

Probably undead. I'll need to see the origins, if there are multiple for undead, to pick one. Name and personality to be determined. Alignment possibly good; usually I play mostly good, but a little Machiavellian (where the greater good can justify theft and less than generous quest choices, etc). With the plot of D:OS 2, though, it might be interesting to oppose the Divine Order (and Black Ring) on principle, rather than purely self preservation, so that would require being principled.

I'll play my usual character, showing absolutely no imagination at all: Vometia, human, annoyance, girl next door (well, for 30-/40-something variety of "girl"), unenthusiastic heroine, and good, mostly law-abiding alignment: I can never make myself play evil characters and generally stay on the right side of the law unless the law means doing bad stuff. Origin story will be the usual "in the wrong place at the wrong time".
Undead is a curious option, and one that may require Rivellon to have invented deodorant by the time of DOS2.

Considering the undead have no nostrils that is indeed a challenge. Mind you if they can see surely they can smell? A question for the philosophers...

I was thinking more for the benefit of the un-undead they may want to conduct business with!

Dual axe (or club) wielding heavy armored dwarf with a bit of earth and witchcraft magic (maybe something from the new spellschools), grumpy fella with a short temper and some love for gold and shiny (enchanted of course!) axes, beer and (of course!) mead, but generally something you would call neutral good in D&D 3.5. Non-backstabbing, rather very devoted to his friends - but being hard for beginning a friendship. Origin would be something like a bastard-prince or alike of the dwarves.

Sourcerers are considered to be evil monsters, and here is the reason why.
name: something for a normal human man, lets say Bob
race: male undead
origin: Mad Scientist: Once he was a human and used his magic as healer. Then he discovered the darker arts. He performed experiments to understand the essence of life and death. First he did experiments on his patients, then he bought slaves and prisoners as test subjects. He was successful and performed the unholy ritual upon himself. Later he was discovered and killed by guards, but because of the ritual he came back as undead.
skills: witchcraft, ice and earth (poison) magic, dual wielding wands, maybe crafting, summon master and polymorph sound nice. In any case, its kind of a mage.
personality: He is obsessed with science and wants to perform experiments on everything he finds. He knows no ethic or social limits in his search, everything is allowed to gain knowledge.
alignment: lawful evil
backstab: no, charm spells and summon skelletons are better
belief: knowledge is power, no price is too high to gain knowledge
notes: I wish he could talk a little bit like Dakkon, just more evil. I mean a strange way of speaking with an emphasis on KNOWING.

I don't know what's going to be available yet, but there are supposed to be certain character types that have more involved stories available. One of them is the Red Prince of the lizard people, something like that?
Anyway, I'm not going to make my one character - I plan to make a full party of four, from differing backgrounds. Then I'm going to have them run around giving opposing answers in dialogue etc. and pursuing different goals in the plot, and end up fighting each other. That's what I backed this game for. Should be fascinating.

Name: Some Human ... like Joe. Not too important to me Race: undead Origin story: Wanted to defy death. As sorcerer undeath/necromancy was an obvious choice Personality: After becoming undead, Joes mind came to a rest for the first time in a long time. But he now seeks a new purpose Alignment: chaotic neutral / neutral evil Backstabbing tendency: magic all the way Beliefs: None. Believing = not knowing = staying dull. Knowledge is power.
