Hello folks. I stumbled upon Divinity Original Sin some weeks back, and watched a few videos and quickly grew interested in playing the game. Ive been playing other games however so I kinda put it off and been watching PSN store to see if it ever went on sale. Last night I checked and noticed it was in fact on sale on PSN right now 29.99 (50% off sale) so I immediately grabbed it. Im still trying to play through Fallout 4 so I may not start it immediately but I cant wait to try this game out. I will probably be stopping in on these forums on occasion to see whats going on, and look for any news/patch updates.

This game looks like one I will likely spends months crawling around in. I also have noted that they are developing a sequel to the game. Does anyone know if there are plans ot bring the sequel to consoles? I do both pc and console gaming but games like this I really prefer to kick back on my couch with a controller.

Any tips for a newbie (but no spoilers) would be appreciated as well. Hope to see you all around :)

It is definitely a great game that you can spend many hours on.

D:OS 2 currently has no plans to have a console release due to some of the ambitious features planned for it. That being said they are likely to investigate the possibility of a port after release if they can.

If you enjoy kicking back on the couch to play certain types of games, of recommend getting the steam link and steam controller.

I played through the majority of the enhanced edition in local co-op through it and it was a very enjoyable experience.

As for tips for the game itself, don't be afraid to explore in the first town itself and talk to everyone. Also the enemies do not scale to the player so there will often be some routes with enemies that are too strong for you, while others are more manageable so don't get discouraged.

This is for ninja steave,
You tell this inquisitive one that it would be best to play through a steam link and to procure a steam controller. Personally I have never played any games on a computer;however,my wife has and we will be ascertaining one quite soon. The point I am trying to get across and inquiry I am about to bombard you with is will it be a whole lot different than using consoles to game with??? I am very non tech savvy I have my wife and sometimes my mother do phone tech deeds for me,and a bit frightened of crossing over from the stone-age,to the presently technologically advanced days to which I am going to have to learn to deal with gaming part/perhaps full time. I also fear that using a controller will be difficult and will have to include keyboard functions as well. Hopefully I am projecting and most if not all of this seem to be a bit far fetched and fanatical. In closing I will thank you for your time and tolerance from perusal of this small request.

Fired up the game yesterday for the first time for a short time. First impressions are mostly positive. One issue I ran into almost immediately however was sound FX kept going out. Nothing I did would bring them back after they go out short of closing the game and completely restarting it. After messing around with it, I feel it is clearly a bug, and a very big one. It seems to trigger when you load into a different area. Seeing such a big bug so early has me a bit concerned, especially on a console game where it should almost certainly be caught in play testing. Can anyone speak to this bug and bugs in particular? Is this game going to be riddled with annoying bugs all the way through? It seems like a fun, deep game, but is perhaps really missing the polish. I played long enough to get just inside the first little dungeon so Im barely in the game at this point.

EDIT: Also, what is up with the mouse cursor that sits in the top left corner? is there no way to turn that off? Doesnt seem to be any way to actually control the cursor, it just sits there in the corner.

DayVlad73;

In general, PC gaming can involve more configuration, etc, and lack of uniform hardware and OS/software means the potential for conflicts is greater, but most of the time it should be just as easy as playing on console. Graphics on PC can be better, and/or have more configuration settings.

Some games support controllers naively on PC, while others do not. In the latter case, there are programs that can map keyboard and mouse functions to a gamepad.

Krazymagic;

The sound effects possibly cutting out (they should return eventually) is a known issue, which should be fixed in the next update, whenever that is.

There shouldn't be a mouse cursor on screen, and I've never seen that reported before.

Good to hear that it will be fixed soon. I may wait for that patch to continue with the game. I feel the mouse cursor shouldn't be there either, but it is. While I do have a keyboard connected to the PS4, I do not have a mouse connected. It is a wireless Logitech keyboard, very basic just used for typing when I play Final Fantasy XIV. It has no track pad or anything. The cursor I can live with I guess, it just sits in the corner of the screen and isnt bothering much other than being an eye sore.

next time I play the game Ill try disconnecting the keyboard and see if the cursor goes away.

There is no ETA for the next update.
