Hi guys!

Couldn't find a topic on this conversation, please forgive me if I'm wrong...

I loved that Original Sin 1 allowed players to dump all their stuff in one window (rather than item category tabs which are boring), and powerful backpacks you could put in your hotbar and allowed for much needed inventory management early in the game.

I love backpacks to death and they're the coolest, but I noted two flaws in the system:

- can't visually differenciate your backpacks and pouches and after a while, I often had to open each one individually to find the objects I was looking for.

- everytime you find a new arrow/ingredient etc., or an item previously stored in a backpack which you ran out of (ie. after you shot that last charmed arrow...), you had to look for the proper bag, drag and drop the arrow into the bag...

Assuming the same inventory system is being considered for Original Sin 2, would it be possible to colour-code backpacks and the possibility to assign a set of rules like:

- which item category(ies) can be automatically transferred to each backpack (quest items, arrows, ingredients etc.).

- and, whether the backpack receives all items of a particular category, regardless of which party member picks it up?
(This way, I make sure that ALL arrows go to my expert marksman, but I can have each character carry their own bag of potions/snacks/etc.)

Love,
DangerBobby

I too would like to see color-able bags. We could even have them marked with little symbols so you know that is my arrow bag or allow for renaming of a bag.

Your idea of filtering items into bags would make inventory management less time consuming. I hope whatever features they use will make it faster to sort and find items. A search filter would be nice to add along with their standard tabular item sorting feature that way when you only look at armor but have loads of it in a bag you can filter to heavy or medium or a rarity. That would be something to think about adding as well. (sort of like the search bar in Path of Exile...made finding items quick when sorting through many many tabs of stuff)

Yes to color-able bags!

Question for everyone:

Would the game be lessened by having a checkbox in the options to allow INSTANT access to your stash, no matter where you are, at a click of a button? This is one thing I do like from the game Pillars of Eternity.

Yes, it's a softer, less-role playing way to play.. It definitely makes things easier.. but running back and forth from a stash ISN'T fun for me. Is it fun for you?

Again, would the game be lessened by having that option in game-play preferences? I do appreciate simply having that option in a few other RPG's.

Thanks y'all

An auto sort button would be nice (like one that would automatically stack similar items that you may have missed). Also, the ability to differentiate junk vs. crafting materials and whatever would be nice. While EE introduced some sorting mechanisms, it wasn't very good.

Why wasn't it very good Nekot? It actually has been a bit since I've played EE, can't remember all the details.
