I want to play Divinity. Don't know which game to play first, though.

Which is better? Should I familiarize with D:OSEE and then D:OS2, or just go head in, BLIND into D:OS2? I know it's weird asking now since no one has D:OS2, but, I'd like to know.

I would suggest you to play D:OSEE first, you won't regret it. As D:OS2 is heavily built upon the first game (as far as I know), it will be perfect to familiarize yourself with this game style and you will have a better knowledge of the world, characters, etc.
And it is an awesome game in itself, about 70 hours of pure joy smile Have fun!

not play D:OSEE it has to be considered a SIN. It's just one of the best roleplaying game ever released (and in the opinion of many, me included) the best.
But do yourself a favor, play it cooperative with a friend, it's there where the game change from one of the best games to the best gaming experience you've ever had

I'm not sure that Divinity: 2 Original 2 Sin is going to 'pull' much in the way of lore or story elements from D:OS:EE, but it might be worth it to get used to the control scheme for the new game before it comes out. It's not required though, as in you might actually have more fun playing the 2nd game blind while learning the controls and stuff.

Up to you.

D:OS is a good game, but it appears that D:OS2 will be improving a lot of the things that didn't work so well in D:OS.

I know I was never able to play KOTOR because I played KOTOR2 first. Play D:OS EE now, and enjoy it while you can.

Hopefully the differences won't be too alienating: even as the sort of player who likes the "ooh shiny" of new stuff, I've gone in the "wrong direction" several times and thoroughly enjoyed myself, even playing DD only recently after starting the series with Ego Draconis. A bit retro, but fun.

Same with The Elder Scrolls, started with Oblivion but had a lot of fun with Morrowind afterwards too. I think one of the few times I really didn't enjoy revisiting an older game was playing Half Life after HL2, though I didn't really like HL when it was first released anyway, so I don't know why I thought that might change!

And where D:OS is concerned, I prefer the classic over the EE, though as I've said elsewhere, that's mostly down to the voice acting.

As others have said, I think you should play DOS:EE first. It is a very good game although it has some weak points and Larian is probably working hard to make them better in DOS 2. So, you might be disappointed if you start playing DOS:EE after DOS 2 ;-)

I plan to do a full D:OSEE run before D:OS2 is finished (having completed the original D:OS already of course).

So yeah, just run the first one now, then move on to 2 smile
