I think the random check system, where some NPC may ask to search our bag is interesting, but ... Is it really necessary to be each time and by any random NPC? An agreement soldier but not a Paysant ...

I always play as a thief character, I love the flying system where you have a diversion to reach our goals. But I find that if random search system is unfairly punitive .... Now, if I steal something, even if no one sees me, a random npc ask me every time to search my bag .... And so I have to kill everyone in the area or make what I stole .................. this is not really interesting or realistic ...

Please do something about it.

Seems silly sometimes. Agreed.

Someone explained, that stolen things are "missed", ie npcs notice that things were stolen, and so they search for them (in your pockets). But i agree that the current system is too much

Oh I must have been extremely lucky, I haven't been checked even once!! I'm usually such a lousy thief :-)

What might trigger these checks? Would wearing a stolen pair of shoes be enough?

I found out that you can easily steal. The NPC that is in the area can be distracted by talking with another char and after the first char stole all things you can move him out of the NPC area. After ending the conversation the other char gets accused and can be searched (without the items that were stolen). After the dialogue no other char will be accused anymore.

The accusations only starts when you steal something that is in the area of a NPC. And only those stolen items can be found by the NPC. If the NPC comes back to his area and "searches" for his items it will accuse one guy next to him and want to search his pockets.

Neat! I wish I had known this earlier :-)
I would have cleaned the places I've passed through out completely!

Yes it could work, but it's more like a workaround than a real solution ... In addition to having already tried it, it is possible to be inspected if we return to the area afterwards, so we should never return to these place or remove every stolen object from our bag before.... I find this much more punitive system than anything else. This was for me a fun part of the first game, but now I'm beginning to think it will not be possible.
