Hi, I searched the forums for help on system requirements. I was able to run Skyrim on my Dell Inpsiron 660 so didn't really worry about it; but it looks like I only have the stock Intel HD graphics card and I cant get past the Character Creation page.

So, I'm looking to get a graphics card and was hoping to get some help in choosing something that will work in my system.

My current specs (and yes, it would be nice to have a better PC, but I don't, my Mac Retina is my good graphics computer):
Intel I5 3rd gen 3GHz
8GB RAM
Win 7 64bit OS
Stock PSU 300W

Not interested in a super high end fancy card. Wondering what cards would be viable to play DOS2 for under $150?

Thanks

I know its a bit over your budget but it would be worth it Radeon RX 480 $229.99

Its not super high end or fancy but you will play everything including this game guaranteed. Its probably one of the best budget cards.

You can also try out:

GeForce GTX 1060 $199.99

GeForce GTX 960 $179.99

But I would not go any lower then that.

A geforce 950 would be around $150

Thx Johnny, I found a GeForce gt 730 at Best Buy for $80, will try that first. There wasn't a lot of options and they didn't have the Radeon Rx 480. If the 730 doesn't work I can return and mail order the better card. Thx for the advice 👍

Ok let me know how that works, honestly it probably won't work very well. This is because the 700 series is a few years old and it being a 730 anything that ends with 30 is low end. You really something that ends with 60 or better with Nvidia.

Oddly enough I couldn't even load the game and got an error. Although its likely related to the drivers not being compatible with the program graphics, cause the embedded Intel HD video driver at least got to the character creation screen. I'll return it and go with one of the cards you recommended.... or may look at tower with the appropriate hardware. The computer is a low grade 2014 Dell.

I have the same pc stats as you and an old 660gtx. Dos2 runs just fine thus far (max settings). 730 sounds underwhelming. Not sure if it can handle the show. Try some old x60 card (660, 760 etc) and you are fine.

Thanks 4verse, I'll give it a shot, the XFX Rx 480 wasn't even able to be detected on my computer. I downloaded the drivers from the AMD site, and nothing. Glad to know you are getting the game to work on your computer bro' thanks a ton!

I put in a Geforce GTX 950 and am not able to get the game to load. This was the message I got. Hopefully Larian will get back to me on this.

Ticket: 81D32AAE9A3B9C2FA0846ECE26830851_S_Dump_aesbrost submitted

All my computer hardware seems better than the min requirements.
My Computer:
i5 3330 (3rd gen intel processor > the min i5 650)
8GB RAM > 4GB RAM
Win 7 64bit
Geforce GTX 950 > GTX 550

I plan to uninstall the game and reinstall to see if that helps because at least I was able to get into the start game and character creation screen when I was just using the default dell built in HD graphics chipset.

Cool that card should do the trick.

Download the latest nvidia drivers for your OS:
http://www.geforce.com/drivers
nvidia drivers

Right click on your desktop go to the nvidia control panel.
Manage 3d settings tab.
Global settings on the right hand side.
For the Preferred graphics processor select high performance nvidia processor.

Also in the program settings
Select DOS2 if its not there add it.
Select the preferred graphics processor, which would be high performance nvidia processor again

I bet that should do the trick.
If that doesnt do it the only thing I could think of is your power supply is weak. How do other games run?

Cool glad to hear. Ya that card should be easily powerful enough to run those games. This one should run well too since I'm running on ultra and that 950 is better then mine smile .
