I have been experimenting and it seems that repair hammers are one-time-use items, but tongs are not used up when repairing. Anyone have any insight into this system? Is repairing items no longer reliant on a particular skill? (I know there is no more "blacksmithing," but does it map to loremaster or something now?) Why include both tongs and repair hammers?

IMO they should just get rid of it, no value added but having to do some menial work once in a while. Adds nothing.

EDIT: They can retool those tools to upgrade armors (one-use item). Then, they actually have a value ingame!

agree. We have no crafting skill anymore and anyone can repair -> useless

Well yeah, mostly no use for it.
The only thing is that without durability you can bash every door or chest not worrying about your gear- so that needs to be redone too then.

Yeah +1 for removing it. It's basically once in a while right click all your items and repair. The only time it's an issue is if your party splits and only one has a repair hammer. But they're so common you'd just end up giving one to every party member.
