Not really sure if this can be counted as a mechanic, but it is pretty useful. People have been complaining about skills being too weak while one handing a weapon and shield aa's costing too much without realising the fact that removing gear does not cost you any ap. So, you can remove your shield before aaing or remove your second hand weapon after you are done casting your abilities.

nice hint, but removing a shield for every attack and then re-equipping it afterwards is pretty dull. the underlying mechanic should be changed instead.

I imagine unequiping like dropping the shield to the side and going ham after it is broken (armor depleted). Re-equiping already costs 2 points, so unless you are dishing more than 2 hits it is not worth it. I am not sure if the shield recharges when re-equipped tho, that would be pretty broken.

That is a good thing to consider. Not super useful, but there might be situations where you just need that 1 AP attack to finish something off. So unequip, hit, reequip next turn. Costs an extra AP overall, but you have the ability to get in the 1AP attack if you need to
