New kid on the block here. LOVE the game, and have what I think is a great idea for a mod...unfortunately, I've had some "issues."

I finally got the terrain tile to display (64x64). I've got a male character on the tile. I've got an AI seeder in place, but when I go to generate the AIwhateveritscalled, it churns...and churns...and churns...and eventually gets to 99.9% complete, where it sits...forever.

I let it run overnight just to be sure. I'm guessing (having watched a number of tutorial vids where those things happened in mere seconds, that all night is probably a bit longer than necessary).
So...I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
Has anybody else experienced something similar, or did I just win the unlucky lotto?
If you have...what witchery did you use to fix it? :)

How did you input the terrain size? If you used the entry method the old classic editor used in the EE I Think that would cause your problem.

In the old editor you just raw input the "size" of the terrain in meters. In the EE you do it via "patches" So 1 patch = 64 meters.

So when you are adding terrain did you do it like this:

Or did you type 64 in the two left most fields? Because that terrain size would be enormous and the cause of your problem.

I find 6x6 patches to be a good workable size for most maps with plenty of buffer on the edges.

And just sort of a general rule, any tutorials or posts you see might have some type of erroneous information like that due to the classic/EE switch.

Ahhhh, that's exactly the issue then. When I was watching the various tutorial videos, I was seeing people enter values like 256x256, 300x300, etc...so I figured that 64x64 was a fairly modest entry. You're exactly right, however - I manually typed in 64 and 64 in the two boxes...on thinking about it, most of those vids were probably released before the enhanced edition came out, which would account for the changes.

As soon as I clear the latest writing gigs out of the way, I'll go back in and give that a try!
Many thanks!
