It seems symbolic to have us return to this location and I am deeply curious to see how it has changed. I know we probably won't, but I truly would love to see how it has changed now, because we seen it as a small village, to bustling city, is it ruins now since Aleroth was big area for the Source?

I think from my understanding of the timeline, its size should be somewhere between the healers' village and the important city, so maybe a significant town of some sort. Though still with the labyrinthine, er, labyrinth underneath it.

Personally, I'd love to see more of Broken Valley.

Vometia can you tell me where you got the information from? Is the Broken Valley in Beyond Divinity?

Broken Valley is one of the first areas of Divinity 2.

According to the same Kickstarter update I linked in another thread, really getting some mileage out of this one, Aleroth is planned as one of the towns in D:OS2. But game development is nightmarish hellscape and plans change all the time.

Oh, I remember, the place Damien does a number on?

Also, I think they could not miss out Aleroth, it's history too defined in the lore.

Yeah, that's the one. I was pretty bummed out about that, I really liked it there, in spite of all the psychotic wildlife.

I was actually thinking, what part of Divinity continuity does OS2 take place? it makes references to Lucian the Divine, and Damien, which I am only aware of in Divinity 2, so does it take place afterwards?

It takes place after Damien's banishment, but before Beyond Divinity, roughly 60-70 years before Divinity 2.

Certainly we'll see Aleroth again, but to keep it consistent with lore, it'll now be a city in the deep desert with architecture and armor styles based on feudal Japan.

Why would it suddenly be based on Japan now? Aleroth was in the mountain but the architecture was definitely not based on Japan.

I think it was just an observation on the lore's consistency. laugh

I'd love to see Verdistis. A sprawling city with many undercover organizations and backstage dramas. Also the music was extremely lovely in original DD smile
