Since I've seen complaining on money being to tight in the alpha I fugured someone might find a simple guide how to get rich in prison usefull.

The trick is to get thrown in the holding cells. To pull this off you need one character with thievery 1, and then you need to either have a character with telekinesis or you need to have Loshe join your group.

1. First step is to get thrown in the holding cells. To do this go pickpicket a magister and make sure to get caught. (this works even if you like me have thievery 1 on a strength char and get the message that you need thievery 2 due to low finesse. Just keep trying to pickpocket the magister, fail, allow to be searched and then repeat the process. After a couple of times they will throw you in prison instead of letting you go.)

2. Once in jail, you need your seccond character to send you some lockpicks. You can simply drag them from your non imprisoned char to the one in jail through the shared inventory. (if you dont have any lockpicks you can craft them with a repair hammer + nails, or buy them from the vendor at the beach that sells geomancer skillbooks. If you have no money because this is litterally the first thing you do in the game, use Loshes telekinesis to pick up the huge portrait at the altar and sell that. Its worth at least 120 gold.)

3. Now you have a character inside the fortress. You can loot some stuff from the dungeon without having to fight anything. But for the real heist you need to find the stairs to the top floor (you need to be sneaking here). Now find your way the luxurious bedroom and unlock the door that leads outside. Here you can drop down a ladder so other characters can get into the fortress unseen.

4. Now the path to riches is open. This is where you need a char with telekinesis. Use the new ladder entrance and sneak into the fortress with your telekinesis and your thievery char. Pick up all the paintings, and loot all the chests. You can also sneak around areas of the courtyard and pick up some nice pieces of armor here and there.

5. Since the paintings are very heavy you can ideally place a char somewhere close to a vendor you want to buy things from. Loot paintings with your telekinesis char untill you cant move, then drag the paintings to your vendor char and trade for goodies you want. This method will allow you to buy all the skillbooks you want, pick up some magic items, and get an extra stash of gold for later use.

6. (optional)
If you have no qualms about killing off a vendor once you have bought everytything of interest from them you get all the paintings you sold to that vendor back. This means you can sell each painting multiple times and get ridiculous amounts of money. But even just selling the paintings from the fort will give you plenty to equip a full party of 4 chars with skills and gear.

7. (also optional)
Now you can come back to these forums and laugh at people whining about how they have no money. :3
