I was wondering if the game will still be playable if we never give our skillpoints to summoning dolls. I mean, I want my character to become as strong as possible, not waste useful points in some silly dolls

I know that no one in the forum will be able to answer this accuratly, but maybe someone from Larian will tell me.

Cheers,
Frank

I doubt they would balance the game to require strong summoning dolls.
In Divinity I never used summoned creatures, and had lots of spare skill points throughout the game. It is unlikely my planned warrior/archer combo would need as many skill points as a mage/something party would (maybe, have not looked too close at the archery skills, since they were not available in the demo), so even if summoning dolls prove very useful, I should be able to spare a couple points.

Well, im thinking alone the same line...

I wont use many skill points on dolls... if any.

(If summons work like any other RPG's... they will be weak compared to your main char(s), not even worth investing points to me... but time will tell...)

Well as the name says they are summoned. Which means they probably can be unsommend to. Maybe a summoning duration applies. A duration that is based on your level or something like that.
A summoning doll might have come in handy for beating Fergus for example. The extra hand just might make the difference in some occasions.

I wonder if you can summon barrels.
I carried a barrel or two in my inventory in the demo. When I fought Fergus, I took out my barrel and positioned my characters to the left and right of the torture master. Then I kept throwing the barrel untill I killed him... Which was six times or so.
With the ghosts, I just put a barrel before the door, opened it and threw it in to the ghost. 3 throws and goodbye ghost .

In the latest interview, they said that the dolls require upkeep. Possibly mana per minute? Time to get your Regeneration up!
