Hi

Downloaded D: OS (EE) today on steam on my macbook pro with El Capitan 10.11.6.

When I attempt to start the game in steam it shows the splash screen where it says "DIV EE".

After a while of nothing happening it just closes. No error message or anything. According to the splash I am running 2.0.119.430 of the game.

I have tried:

- Rebooting
- Logging out of Game center
- Verify integrity cache in steam
- Praying

Please help! I goddamn love this game and I want to play on my travels and finish be4 I buy the next one :)

Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) before starting the game? Firewalls have caused conflicts (generally on loading screens) and overlays from graphics tweaking/monitoring programs or chat programs have also caused issues.

Try starting the game without Steam running: right click the game in the Steam library, select Properties, switch to the Local Files tab, click on the 'Browse Local Files...' button and then exit the client and launch the game from Finder.

If that doesn't help, try browsing to the '~/Documents/Larian Studios' folder and deleting the 'Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition' subfolder.
This folder contains the saved games, configuration files and a level cache folder. Normally I would suggest renaming the folder for troubleshooting purposes, but if you don't have any saved games that isn't an issue.
Next, extract the replacement folder from the download below into your '~/Documents/Larian Studios' folder, and see if that will let you start the game (it may help if the problem is in setting up the initial Documents folder and configuration files).

The graphicSettings.lsx file is set to 1280x720 Windowed mode, Very Low quality preset, which you can change in the options (manually, or hit autodetect) if this gets the game to start.
If the game still crashes, you can delete the downloaded Documents D:OS folder.

What are your system specs, particularly the graphics card?

Hi

TL;DR

Thank you so much for the help and fast response! Things are working great now smile

1. Downloaded the files and put in ~/Documents/
2. Turned off steam and ran executable from Finder

-----

For future reference, I'm not really sure actually what solved it. I forgot to mention that I tried running the executable from finder ALTHOUGH I had steam running at the time. I put the files you provided in ~/Documents/ (by the way the Larian Studios folder had not been created), then also at the same time ran the game with Steam off from finder and the game ran without problems.

Then for debugging purposes I wanted to know what actually solved it. I renamed the Larian Studios folder and ran the game from Steam and then everything also ran without issues anyway. It even generated the Larian Studios folder this time and synced by savegames from cloud (awesome work with that btw).

My specs

Macbook Pro Late 2013
CPU: Intel Core i7 2,8 GHz
Num CPU's: 1
Num Cores: 2
L2-cache (per core): 256 K
L3-cache: 4 MB
Memory: 16 GB
GPU: Intel Iris 1536 MB VRAM
