Not able to customise spells in the start, which I think is coming later? crosses her fingers Has anyone found a vendor early on that might sell Restoration book to learn? ...and my only other major issue is..NPCs search player inventory to much, I accidentally clicked a basket and then the NPC insisted on scanning my inventory and my friends ;_; we didn't even have any stolen goods. Pretty please reduce how often they do this.

Oh, thank you! I never got to really look around as right away some Elf lady was like follow me..then I got lost and couldn't find her so quit while waiting for a friend to get the game.

He's on the west side of the fort, just west of Griff in a tent (either that or wandering around nearby). If you appease/kill Migo, then he gives you a ring that specifically allows you to cast Restoration while you wear it. You can also find skillbooks occasionally in random loot, but that's quite unreliable. Your best bet is collecting fifty or so 1 gold items, and selling them all for Restoration from Rezzik. Just to clarify.
