Hi all. I've found myself in a situation where I cannot finish Act 1. I'm playing version 3.0.5.530. I fought Alexander and killed all of the accompanying mooks, but the Void Worm never spawns. I cannot click the boat to end the act, and there is no final boss for me to fight.
I killed Alexander without initiating dialog, but I did this in the previous patch without issue.
I did practically everything. My whole party is level 9. I even have Gareth and the inhabitants of the shelter urging me to the fight, but everyone is dead.
Has anyone else encountered this? Is there a workaround?

I haven't had that specific problem, but I've noticed that there seems to be a repeated issue with the worm spawning after the rest of the battle is over: I dare say that if combat actually completes beforehand, the worm may never spawn. It seems it needs to be looked into.

In the last battle I had, it took a few rounds for the worm to spawn. I've consciously tried to keep Alexander alive (even casting Restoration on him), fearing an issue exactly like this. Of course, I also wanted him to fight the worm, but he doesn't seem to care...
That's a pseudo-bug in and of itself. When the worm spawns, Alexander still attacks me and my party? Why? There's a huge end-of-the-world hellspawn right there in front of you and you decide to attack the guys trying to fight it? Alexander isn't that stupid! I think there ought to be a mechanism where the Bishop joins your side until the Worm's dead.

In the last patch I killed all enemies and THEN had the worm show up in most of my playthroughs. This is the only time the worm was like "fuck that, nope".

In one of runs, I killed everyone without the Void Worm spawning, then was able to walk around freely. Once I walked out into the open, the Void Worm spawned. I think it's an area trigger. If you don't walk into a certain area, it doesn't spawn. So, if you fight solely from the sides, it won't spawn. I can't currently test this hypothesis, though.

It does spawn if you fight on the sides. There are some terrain issues on the side where the Mage is, though; sometimes the worm burrows underneat a ledge and doesn't come up where it can be attacked, but it can still attack the player.
Also is it just me or is the Gheist who's with Alexander much smaller than the Gheists we saw with Dallis?
Also where is Dallis, why isn't she with Alexander?

I marched my party all over the area attempting to get the Worm to spawn. No luck. I have had what you describe happen in my runs on the last build. The Worm would pop up quickly after combat with the humans ended. This time he is nowhere to be found.

Please email supportdos2@larian.com, with a description and your latest save (or a Dropbox or Google drive link, etc), and one before the final fight, if available. Each save is a folder in the '..\Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin 2\PlayerProfiles\<ProfileName>\Savegames' folder. In Windows Explorer you can zip file(s) and folder(s) by right clicking on it/them and selecting 'Send To | Compressed (zipper) Folder'.

Does this message apply to every bug mentioned in this thread, or just the OP where they couldn't complete the act?

Thanks. I emailed the save file demonstrating the problem.

Does this message apply to every bug mentioned in this thread, or just the OP where they couldn't complete the act? It was primarily directed at error3, but in general for any issues that are not already known and may not be easy to reproduce, it would be nice to have an applicable save for. It is suppose to take a few rounds for the worm to spawn. Alexander will fight the worm, and vise versa, but target selection depends on various factors, including positioning. From his perspective, you are the reason the worm is there in the first place, and given what he knows about what you know about the fate of sourcerers on the island, he has reason to distrust a temporary alliance.

My usual "tactic", such as it is, is to have my guys stand just outsize the entrance to the plaza and snatch Alexander so we can deal with him without the onslaught from his allies. I guess it's possible that teleporting him out of the area could be responsible for mucking up the timing of the worm's appearance.

Makes sense. There was another issue, though. During the fight, the worm once burrowed out at a place where it could not be attacked (but where it could attack others, mysteriously). The place was on the outer piece of the ledge where the Mage walks on; on the side that faces Gareth's Rallying Point.
