Hello everyone, Here's the short of it. I joined Gamespy so I could get some demo's. Having problems with down loading. I get timed out , disconnected or it takes 20+ hours to download. Sent them a email. They offered some download mangers that will speed up the download time and allow you to resume a download.Have tried 4 times to get the Beyond Divinty now. Want to try the mangers. Does any one have experince with them? It's dialup that I have.I came to this board because everyone is nice and helpful and really want you to have a nice time gameing. Thank You

Raze posted a list of download managers which you can find here.

freeware download managers

I've used DLExpert a couple times. The other two have been updated more recently; from the descriptions LeechGet seems like it may be more user friendly.

oops, should have refreshed the topic before posting...

Sorry to say that, but I don't think this belongs into the RPG Chat Section ...

Thanks Raze, I tried DLExpert and LeechGet. I liked LeechGet so much that I removed Getright. Top notch Download menager, that one.
Thanks again.

I'm using Getright, just because it was on a magazine's CD-ROM translated into German.

I used to use Gozilla a couple of years ago when I didnt know any better--spyware loaded. Now with a cable modem I find I don't need a download manager anymore.

By the way, Getright shouldn't have any spyware anymore ... a few years ago I read a press release made by them saying that they wanted to get rid of the bad image accompanied by spyware , so they wouldn't "include" it anymore.-

I haven't seen any spyware in GetRight since I've been using it.

Hello Everyone, Well I haven't used it yet. I downloaded it and then tried to use it at fileplanet kept getting all these script errors. Got scared deleted it and hit the restore button. Someone told me that that was a site problem. Have downloaded it again that does seem to be true. I also downloaded the DAP update. But its too big for AOL to open. It tells me to open it useing a diffrent application. Not sure how to do that. Is the update really important? do I need it? I will figure out how to use this thing. Thanks Again <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/suspicion.gif" alt="" />
