I just updated to the new patch and wanted to try out the changes, but for some reason my game now runs REALLY poorly. Before, I could get stable framerates and the game looked smooth. Today when I launched, starting at the menu, the game looked pixely and slow. I tried setting the graphics a step lower (I understand it's alpha) but this didn't fix it either. I figured it may just be a menu thing and moved on to character creation. The model looked really low def but I chalked it up to the weird display issue. In game, however, it feels like molasses. I don't have exact frame numbers but it felt like sub 15. It also looked really pixelated and rough. Any ideas what could cause this/could fix it?

Running on a laptop, gtx 840m, intel i7 5500U at 2.4ghz, 12g ram

Try verifying local files: in the Steam library, right click on the game and select Properties, switch to the Local Files tab and then click on the 'Verify Integrity of Game Cache...' button.

Rename or delete the graphicSettings.lsx file in the '..\Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin 2' folder, to get the game to recreated the next time it is started.

If you right click the game in the Steam library, select Properties, switch to the Betas tab and revert back to ea_version_2, does the performance and graphics quality go back to normal (after the update is completed)?
