Heavy weapon slam and shield builds up armor, that are great news. However sucker punch is weird. Ability to knock enemy with a dagger ? hmm not really

Here are some other ideas what an alternative 1handed weapon attack could do :
- Kitting move - weak attack and move 1m >> all that for 1AP
- Feint - pretend aggressive attack so opponent loose 2AP while trying to cover himself, and you get 20% bonus to dodge for 2 rounds.

It's a little odd of an ability, not sure it quite fits the character of one-handed weapons either. It makes sense that you could do something with your free hand, but a knockdown seems like a little much. I think a grapple ability that would function as a short-range teleport (3-5m) would be cooler and maybe a bit more thematically appropriate. Does involve making a whole new animation for physically moving an enemy, which could be difficult. It'd be even cooler if the ability could teleport allies as well as enemies, maybe buffing allies and damaging enemies.

I think all attacks now let you move up to 1m to make the attack, so your first ability is a bit redundant there.

In general, there's a lot of room for learnable skills that require certain weapon types. Like, there could be a duelist skill for one-handed weapons, where you end your turn but you'll retaliate with an attack against enemies that attack you in melee. Maybe something like a "free action" ability for one-handed/no shield where you can use an inventory item for 0 AP. Two-handed weapons and DW would could have certain power skills, where DW is more about speed and chaos (berserker) andtwo-handed is brute strength (knight). Plus shield skills.

I think the 1 handed free ability could be something along the lines of what your thinking. I really don't think they need another re position. So many other class abilities grant those.

My take on it is based on the type of combat styles that single handed weapon users tend towards which is control in combat and not sheer power.

[Disarm] - 1AP, 4 turn cooldown -> deal 25% damage and reduce opponents AP by 2 for 1 round and reduce any weapon dmg by 100% for 1 round.

It has the same feeling as unique to having a one handed weapon without being the same as some existing abilities like re-position etc. Added benefits are no additional animations needed since it just a strike that has riders. I not quite sure if the reducing weapon based dmg is possible from the design of the game but it would be very cool and thematic.

What other ability besides teleport re-positions other characters? IMO, we could desperately use another re-position. There's a reason teleport is one of the most used abilities: it's super fun and useful. A short range grapple/teleport with less of a cooldown that could be used on allies and enemies alike would be boatloads of fun, and still feel fairly unique.

Again, I think various learnable skills requiring certain weapon types would solve a lot of this dilemna of making the perfect skill for one-handed.

Sorry I misspoke. I think there are enough general re position abilities for all classes. I kinda like teleport is unique because of the ability to change the battlefield so fast. But to each their own :)

I do think it would be cool if there were abilities that could be memorized based on weapon type as you mentioned!
