Can someone explain me how attributes works? The game says that "Strength increases damage dealt with strength-based weapons and skills", "Finesse increases .. finesse-based .." and "Intelligence increases .. intelligence-based..". But where i can find what base each skill uses? For example is "Mosquito Swarm" scales with strength or with intelligence? Or even with finesse? Deescription sais only "dealing physical damage" and i cant figure out where to spend points to up damage of that skill.

When not reading the manual just take a general approach. Heavy big weapons - strength, quick small weapons - finesse, magic spells - intelligence.

It's quite obvious, that weapon damage scales with appropriate attribute. But my question was about spells. Do ALL spells scale with intellegence? I think that Warfare spells scales with strength and Scoundrel spells scales with finesse, not sure about others, espicially about Necromancer's.

Those are not spells, those are skills. Although they may look like spells and have flashy special effects.

Magic is elemental. Fire, water (ice), earth (mostly poison for offense), air (lightning and stuff), then witchcraft (curses) and probably necromancy once it gets in.

Shame you didnt respond with some form of "fing manual bla, blah, blaaah!" cos i so had a reply ready...
damnit. No. Not that one.

There is no Witchcraft, it's named Necromancy now.

My guess would be Intelligence btw but hard to tell. I think you see it nowhere.

No witchcraft anymore? Man... i am mixing the previous game with this one. But i played only one game in this new beta.

The thing is, i havent read the manual either. That was my waiting joke...

I would guess that warfare and scoundrel skills get damage out of strength and finesse, and maybe, probably from investing points into those skills. Intelligence should not affect those because it would force such builds to invest into Int too, which is against how design of the game is set up so far.

I need to play again.

Warfare, scoundrel, and huntsman skills generally require a weapon to use. They might just use whatever attribute is used by the weapon that you're currently wielding (so, could be strength, finesse, or intelligence).

That has nothing to do with the game at all. The terminology for the game is clear and it is settled.

D:OS 2 Terminology:

Attributes:
General statistics which measure the basic physical and mental capacities of your character. They are used as a modifier for various things: Skills, Initiative, Abilities and some other actions, such as moving an object in the world.

Abilities:
Statistics which measure the specific aptitudes of your character in specific aspects. An aptitude greater than 0 is required to use Skills of that aptitude. Skills include proficiency in weapons, leadership, thievery, telekinesis, lore, and more.

Skills:
Actions which your character can take. These are never passive. You are constrained in the types of Skills you can learn by your proficiency in your known Abilities. You are limited in the amount of total Skills you can have by the Attribute "Memory".

I should state though... that ALL weapons and skills do state what attribute they use.

So there is no real guess work required.

Weapon wise:
-Strength: Swords (excluding rapiers/foils), Axes, Maces, halberds
-Finesse: Bows, Crossbows, Dagger, Rapier, and Spears
-Intelligence: Wands, Staffs

Skillset Wise... Crud I forgot the proper names
-Strength: Marshal
-Finesse: Scoundrel and Marksmen
-Intelligence: Pyromancy, Aerothurgy, Hydrosophy, Geomancy, and Necromancy
-Nothing: Racial Skills
