So the latest kickstarter update mentions things that are currently being worked on and that sort of thing, right?

What, of that, are you looking forward to most?

I, for example, am LOVING the idea of (in order) Undead, the Relationship system, the new origins, and the Systemic Tags!

Hoping for summoning master (love playing characters that gate in hordes of crazy and terrifying creatures) and polymorph skill trees, but I am slightly admittedly worried they wouldn't be fun in the games current state. If that is not it, i'm hoping for the relationship system because the story and character interactions in DOS2 are fantastic, and I can't wait for more.

In terms of content, I'm genuinely curious about Undead and shapeshifters (can't rememebr the exact name).

In terms of game mechanics I'm banking on hand-placed loot making itemization less dull than in the previous game.

Party control in Baldur's Gate 3 is a complete mess that begs to be addressed. SAY NO TO THE TOILET CHAIN

Yay for the undead crowd!
Summoning and shapeshifting are both interesting as well. Especially shapeshifting.
I'm also curious about / looking forward to the ghost vision talent - imagine being able to talk to the lizard woman that gets killed by Dallis at the entrance to the fort, and asking if she really was lying about something, or that kind of thing!

I'm most-of-all hype for undead though, seriously. I'm so curious as to what kind of interactions there'll be, and if you'll be able to play as an undead member of EVERY race (For example, undead lizards, or elves). I hope you do, but that all undead have the same racial traits since they're effectively united in their aberrant nature.

Yeah, I gotta say I'm looking forward to the undead race and summoning tree the most out of everything as well.

I've always wanted to play heteromorphic races in rpgs and while summoning isn't usually my favorite playstyle (I prefer to play glass cannon mage in most games), I'm really interested to see how it plays in this turn-based game.

Thinking of making an undead summoner is pretty exciting. After reading the Overlord light novels, I'm expecting great things!

My feature that I'm most waiting for...? Finally a fixed and better thought-out protection and source system... frown

Those are already pretty well thouhgt out, and well done in my opinion. Armor instead of pure random chance, and a limited number of source points rather than "Haha all the strongest skills can be used as openers for EVERY combat."

Personally, I think if I played a Summoner it'd actually be as a lizard - to fit with their whole 'we are the best and others should serve us' thing. Whereas an undead I'd, depending on how it's implemented, probably play a shapeshifter.
What makes you want to play an undead summoner?

This sadly ignores a lot of it's shortcomings. For example it creates a great imbalance regarding the distribution of it's effects. For example it's "all or nothing" makes vitality a lot less meaningful up to completely meaningless, as armor up or down determines often about win or loss thanks to the heavy CC. (damage doesn't "reach" life as long as armor is up, and is of no use if not, as acting isn't possible at all most times [knock, stun, freeze...])

Same goes for source points, the advantage exists unchanged. The question "opener" or not is simply not about the source points as a resource, but instead about the powerdifferential between these skills and non-source ones. An imbalance that exists only just of that and shouldn't after all!
In other words: Would you like to start a duel with no source while your opponent has the maximum? I doubt that... wink

I am most looking forward to making an Undead with summoner tree and necromancy.

The reason for lots of people liking Lich and summoning together is because Liches are masters of death and spirit powers, thus a Lich should naturally be able to command lower Undead beings, a Lich commanding an army of undead is always cool.

I will probably be combining Summoning, Shape shifting and Necromancy for my Lich !

I also hope Undead can also have Romance like other races.

I don't actually think they're liches, since the undead according to the lore we've gotten so far usually aren't directly intentionally undead, and have a hard time if they're re-killed of coming back.

Personally, though, I plan on having a Shapeshifting, Necromancy, Warfare undead lizard! Or, that's one idea I've tossed aroudn. Another is a necromancy-hydro pure mage type, healing himself and his allies, and occasionally blasting enemies with necromancy and 'healing' to mess 'em up.

Or another, for example, is a human or elf skeleton one-hand user who uses axes and shields. SKELETON WARRIOR.

Oh the reason I thought they were very close to a Lich is because in a very early video they said that there will be a civilization of certain Undead called "The Chosen Ones" that had the ability to resist the pull into the hall because of a big secret, they are a civilization so we can assume they kept all their intellect, personality and mind they had before death, the only Undead that are able to keep all that other than vampires are Liches , even vampires start to lose their mind if they don't drink blood.

Then again, I know Divinity got it's own lore and stuff, but I only called them Liches because that's what the Chosen ones reminded me of the most.

I don't think that Divinity's universe HAS liches or vampires. It's got its own set of rules. I could be wrong, though.

Anyway yes, there are three kinds of undead, but technically ALL undead keep their minds for a t least a while.
There's ones who are there purely by accident, and slowly lose their mind. (Dunno their title).
There's The Risen, I think it is, who are raised by necromancers as servants, driven along by a drug-like addiction to Source.
And there's The Chosen, which are there seemingly at random, though MAYBE intentionally, who keep their minds with a secret method and seemingly don't need to feed on source to keep going full steam.

The chosen ones aren't random, that's they are the called "The chosen" , they have their own city and civilization that's in a remote island that's shrouded by death fog, I am very excited to know more !

Except they are random as far as we / the world at large knows. Nobody knows what causes them to be able to keep their identities so flawlessly, or even what causes them to not go to the afterlife. They may even just call THEMSELVES The Chosen, to feed into the mystique.
