I'm thinking:

Emma Watson, Anthony Hopkins, Idra Elba, Cate Blanchett, Christopher Walken, Morgan Freeman, Tilda Swinton.

Perhaps a cameo from Samuel L Jackson would work.

What does everyone think?

I quite liked the voice actors from D:OS (the classic one, that is) and Ego Draconis: I guess I'd rather stick with them than the big names, where I can't help feeling I'd hear Emma Watson and Morgan Freeman rather than the characters they're playing. Well, that and A-list actors tend to charge a large fortune to do any voice work.

The voice acting in ED was a big step up from DD amd BD, the latter of which gained a certain amount of notoriety...

Yeah agreed. Quality lesser known actors work just fine and no doubt a fraction of the price.

But if I was picking from A-listers that would be my shortlist smile

I think Freeman could do a Red Lizard well, or the narrator obviously.

Also Tilda Swinton is basically made for the RPG genre.

Here is a clip of her from Constantine, which granted is an awful movie, but demonstrates Swinton's spunk.

Maybe. I don't want a lot of telly and films so it's hard for me to say, but I figure as long as Paul Darrow is involved somewhere. biggrin

I think my fear would be having it filled with American TV actors: although it works in some situations like the Fallouts it can really ruin the vibe in others, which I think it did with Skyrim.

Yeah, primarily British voices. Definitely room for some Americans and also Euro accents.

Could they make space for an Australian voice? Would be cool to hear that I think.

I liked the British regional accents in ED which I think worked quite well. Of course I would say that since I have a British regional accent!

Didn't D:OS have an Australian actor (I mean one speaking with an actual Australian accent, not like Claudia Black)? I may be thinking of some other game I played recently though, I have a really terrible memory for that sort of thing.

I cant remember an Australian actor, I just remember Madora's southern American accent.

And yes, the British regional ones like Baidotr I enjoyed.

Its pretty much expected that a dwarf is going to have a scottish accent as well.

The lizard interests me in terms of voice. I'm not sure what he/she should sound like but something a little exotic maybe anglo/indian (think Kamahl). Or I suppose there are other options.

I liked the Brummies in ED, such as the hermit, and the skeleton merchant at the top of Lovis' Tower. I don't think there was anyone from my neck of the woods, though. And I may have been thinking of another game: it's frustrating that I can't remember what it was. Could've just as easily been Fallout or something like that as that tends to sometimes have unexpected accents, such as the guy from North Yorkshire in Far Harbor.

I think lizard folk are obliged to have Mexican accents. I've probably just spent too long playing Oblivion.

If we can just have the cheese merchant back, I'll be happy.

I'm quite ashamed that I made several replies without even thinking about mentioning that. Thanks for bringing up that important point! The cheese merchant must make an appearance. Preferably a very persistent one.

The original cheese merchant, that is.
