Hello,

I tried to google this issue but I didn't find anything related. I started a new game and I made it to Fort Joy. When I logged into the game the day after, the last save loaded up correctly but after a random amount of seconds the game started re-loading. There doesn't seem to be an end to it but it just keeps re-loading after some seconds of a successful load.

Not too much of a hassle since I was so early in the game but just saying.

Thanks for this great game!

Do earlier saves do this, or just the latest?

If you create a new profile and start a new game, does this also happen if you save, quit, restart and load?

If just the latest save does this, please email it (or a Dropbox or Google drive link, etc) to supportdos2@larian.com, with a description (or link to this topic).
Each save is a folder in the '..\Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin 2\PlayerProfiles\<ProfileName>\Savegames' folder. In Windows Explorer you can zip file(s) and folder(s) by right clicking on it/them and selecting 'Send To | Compressed (zipper) Folder'.

This issue has not been reported before, that I've seen.

Hello,

I started a new game and in all my wisdom I deleted the problematic save. It was indeed only 1 save that caused this issue. If it occurs again, I will send it to you.

Some info that I can add... This *seemed* to have happened when a friend tried to(joined?) my server and was playing as the Red Prince so I think it's multiplayer related. If I remember correctly we experienced the same issue back in the original DoS using the 4-coop mod that a user published at the time. It seems that the new system implemented in DoS2 is very similar to that mod in that regard since as back then, when the coop required the henchmen to be unlocked in order for the 4 characters to be available, in DoS2 if you try to login with only 1 character a "server full" message will pop up so you have to recruit 4 heroes around Fort Joy for a full 4-player coop.

I would expect a more like "drop-in" system. If someone was invited-wanted to join, he would have the chance to create a new character. Then a pop up would appear at the host notifying him for the race and class and which NPC-controlled hero he would like to replace. I understand that this might require a complete redesign of the game engine but it was just a suggestion laugh

We ended up creating a brand new multiplayer game where all 3 created new characters at the same time. After that, we played for 7 hours straight without any lag, crash, bug or anything we can remember. Great game and really polished for an alpha version.

Keep up the exceptional work!

Hope raising this post from the dead is okay, but it is the only it describes the problem that I am currently having with the game. I just started playing and am running into this problem where the game keeps reloading the last save point at random, frequent intervals. Sometimes a minute, sometimes a few seconds, but basically non stop. I have tried deleting the profile and creating a new one with the same results. Tried deleting the game and reinstalling, problem is still there. Strange thing is the game works fine on my old PC even using the same game save file from Steam. I would really like to get it working on my new PC so I can play in 4k on my nice monitor and not have to resort to playing the whole thing on the old machine. Anything I can try? Thanks.

Are you shutting down all non-essential programs before starting the game, especially any macro programs or keyboard utilities?

In the Controls section of the options, try remapping the QuickLoad hotkey to something else.

Try doing a clean boot and then test the game. Click Start, or hit WinKey-R, type in msconfig and hit enter; in the General tab, click Selective Startup, uncheck Load startup items (if required) and leave Load system services and Use original boot configuration options checked. Next, click on the Services tab, check the box to Hide all Microsoft services, then click the Disable All button (maybe make a note of which are currently enabled/disabled), then click OK and reboot the computer.
Run msconfig again to switch back to the normal boot configuration.

Try creating a new Windows administrator user account, switch to that account and try starting the game from there, directly from the executable.
