In previous versions, Ifan was the dagger-using Rogue, and Sebille was the Ranger. Now in this patch, Ifan is a Wayfarer and Sebille is a Rogue. This is a good change. Why?

Because Sebille is an Elf. When I played her as a Ranger before class swapping, her inventory filled up with body parts to eat, but she never really got damaged. Eventually I had to have her just chow down on some special parts.

As a Rogue, Sebille is going to take a lot of damage, but now I can finally use her special cannibalism healing ability to good effect. Plus the bonus AP from Flesh Sacrifice means she can move up and attack better than Ifan could.

Lore-wise it also works better because Sebille was always a sneaky person who was fast and liked small pointy weapons, and Ifan was a mercenary, and those tend to use bigger weapons than daggers.

So a good change!

Since Patch v3.0.31.292 (02.02.2017) you can choose which starting class recruited companions should have.

Sure, the default starting class isn't as important anymore, but I agree with Stabbey the default role switch makes sense, though it's a bit weird imagining Ifan as a non-rogue after playing him as one this whole time.

Yes, I know this. I have used this feature. I do not give a crap about your opinion of it.

It's nice for developers to hear feedback on the good things they're doing and not just criticism.

Would be even nicer if the good things were a little bit more significant.

As it stands, even the somewhat cool addition of the kickstarter skill schools introduces more problems than value(i.e. there is more things to balance, with no balance work being done in sight).
