Hello,

I'm having a pretty good time in the alpha, so far it's very impressive.

However, after playing multiplayer with a friend last night, I lost all of my saves on a character I was playing solo because I never thought to do a specific save for him. In my experience playing other RPGs, the game automatically makes a file specific to that character, and subsequent autosaves, quicksaves, etc only apply to that character and don't override a different characters save.

I know this game is capable in the settings of increasing the number of quicksaves and autosaves, and from this I've learned to make manual saves and name them, but it still seems like it would make sense for the game to automatically make a character specific file upon creation. Normally if I hit Load Game, I am asked which character I want to load up, so when I was greeted by a bunch of save files, I knew I was in trouble.

Anyways, what happened isn't a deal-breaker as I know what's up now and I know what to do, but the fix still makes sense to me. Hopefully this is something that can be implemented.

Were you the host or was the other person the host? In D:OS 1, only the host could save multiplayer games, and I haven't heard that that changed in D:OS 2.

I was the host. Just like my solo character, I only did quicksaves so those overwrote my quicksaves on my other character. I had just assumed it had different character folders for your saves.

You can create multiple profiles to keep separate sets of saves for different playthroughs. That doesn't happen automatically, though.

Alright, thanks for the heads up. I still think it makes sense to do it automatically, but glad to know there is something to accomplish this.
