Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) General high pitched squeal in black ring dungeon

finally got back to game and when the cut scene started in the black ring dungeon a squeal started high enough to hurt the eardrum and will not stop evenafter the cut scene is finished. this makes the game unplayable. i go outside and it stops. any ideas or answers ???

Try running dxdiag, switching to the sound tab, and turning the hardware sound acceleration down a notch (or even off).
Does turning the music or sound effect volume down to zero make any difference?
Someone else had a similar problem, but re-booting the computer fixed it.
