Only played a couple hours so far (trying to hold off until release), but one thing is really bugging me:

Items labeled pants, with icons that look like pants, are not pants when worn by female characters. Put pants on a woman? Get a skirt/dress...

There's the obvious problem where they are not what they are presented as. But also, why do women not get to wear pants?

Women don't wear pants because it would draw attention away from their boobs, butt, and legs. Which is their most important, and some say only, quality. *Canon answer*

The simple answer is that its just artistic design.

There is nothing wrong with having women wear pants, but i believe some like to have access to dresses as well, if the items are always what they show to be, which will say pants is pants and dresses is dresses, then if you find a good item you want for your guy but it turns out to be a dress then you may not be all that pleased, as you want to wear the dress because of the stat but you dislike how your guy have to wear a dress for that.

And i be talking about dresses then, a robe is a different thing, but i have not checked how every item is in the game, is there really no pants for women? I would have imagined that more armored pants are actiully pants, armored dress is just a bit nonesensical.

The clothes also change for every race and for many class presets too.

I think that mage pants are always robes (or the robes are always full length and the pants are never visible underneath?) and that armour pants are actually pants for both men and women.

Why does elf heavy armour just look like a bunch of leaves? Cause.

I suppose there's also the thing about "pants" often being interpreted as undergarments, just for added awkwardness.
