First off, I would like to just start by saying what an amazing game DOS2 is so far. I've already sunk 20+ hours into the early access and am just loving it. My first Divinity game was Divinity 2 Dragon Knights. The concept of being a knight whom can turn into a dragon was the greatest. I devoted hours of fun into that one. That being said, the dragon knights are my absolute favorite element in the Divinity Lore.
The World of Divinity is just amazing all around. One of the Best RPGS around. I would love to see, more than anything else, a Dragon Form ability as a polymorph school spell. It doesn't have to be a massive dragon, even a drake-like form would be pretty sweet. With its own ability bar and skills, like a breath attack, wing attack, or tail attack of some kind. A biting devour attack that causes bleeding. Standing/Walking through fire could heal or at the very least you'd be immune to fire damage in dragon form.
Or even add a preset to the character creation classes called dragon knight and add a line of draconic abilities to the game. I know tons of divinity fans would welcome this idea and love to see it come alive in your spectacular new game. The form could last for so many turns and have a Cooldown. You could even add it in as a new origin story. "As one of the last remaining Dragon Knights...." and just fill in a story from there.
To end, I would like to say again just how much of an amazing game you guys have designed so far. Even in its short span of current content it's hours upon hours worth of fun and the replay value thus far is just 10/10. Every new play that I have stared is just fresh and different. Learning the current World so far has been exciting and all of the hidden elements along the way excellent.
Thank you Larian Studios for all of your hard work and dedication to bringing this world to life. For all the hard work, time and effort your staff has put into this masterpiece thus far. For the individual ideas each one of you has put into this game. I can easily recommend not only DOS 2, but the first DOS to other fellow gamers. Thank you for any time and consideration you also put into reading my feedback and juggling my idea!

First, the game comes out in three months, and so there will be no new skill lines added by Larian.
Second, this game is an incredibly poor fit for a playable Dragon. Flying would break all the triggers, the maps are too small to go very far, and turn-based combat would completely remove the feeling of freedom and mobility that is the main fun of playing a dragon in the fist place.
I'd like to see another playable Dragon game as well, but for that, real-time combat is a must.

Thanks for your opinion and feedback. You never know though, they may just surprise us. I'm sure they have lots of things we don't even know about that they are going to add still. Hardly any of the game is published for play. As long as the game stays in development I'll hold out on new ideas being implemented.
Plus, they already have flying in the game as a polymorph skill. So is possible, just costs AP to move.

After seeing the frost dragon transform, I personally thought it'd be sick to have the dragon transformation thing in as a skill set as well, but I doubt it will. At least not int he base game / by default. Mods could totally allow for it, though.

Yeah it would definitely be awesome. Thanks for your feedback. I would love to see an official patch-in of that feature eventually if not at launch. They could definitely implement it in if they want too. They already have a spell that lets you "Hover" and another one that let's you "Fly". So both of those mechanics are possible. The form could allow for hover during it's duration, ability at the cost of Action Points to fly to areas same as the current flight spell. Breath attack (dependent on the element you choose), Claw attack (basic Attack) , tail attack (could be like a knockdown). Physical Armor Boost during the duration of the form. Just some examples.

Well it's likely not that simple, which is why I say it would likely be a mod if anything, as much as I'd like it to be official. Just for example, the -size- may not work ina lot of areas (Such as when indoors / in a cave) and in theory allowing it as a skill tree would make things real weird - would ONE skill give you the claw and the tail and the flight and the breath weapon? Also, do you mean 'hover' as in the skill where surfaces just up and don't affect you, or 'hover' as in when you are just MOVING you ignore surfaces?

I've seen a spell where it like hovers the recipient and special ground doesn't affect them. Like poison or fire, etc..
The one dragon transformation (or polymorph) would give you an entirely new skill bar with dragon abilities. The dragon transformation in Divinity 2: Ego Draconis didn't seem that big at all. it was relatively small for a Dragon, or at least it was in my eyes. Slane, the Winter Dragon, in Dragon Form, was way bigger than the Dragon Knight's Form in Divinity 2. So if they scaled it down smaller it might could work.
Although, now that I've had time to reflect. The only Dragon Knight they could add would be Slane and make him like an origin story. Because after playing through the game again and reading his dialogue, having it fresh on my mind. Im pretty sure he says he is the last of his kind.
So maybe have some kind of smaller Drake like form. It would just be really cool to see in-game. Though i suppose i could always have something like that in a game master mode campaign.

Being able to be a Dragon Knight would break the first act entierly. At first, how did the magisters capure you? You are a freaking Dragon. Once you get your collar removed (thats with assuming that the collar prevents you from going into dargon form) you should be able to just fly away (i mean you are a dragon). Then, as Stabbey already mention, playing as a dragon in a top down game with turn based wouldnt be as awesome as it is in Dragon Commander/Ego Draconis. Another issue would be the story (if they didnt change it). The divine one was killed by a Dragon Knight. After that, Dragon knights were hunted by the Paladins (Those became the Dragon Slayers). With that in mind you shouldnt find to many Dragon Knights out there anymore. A new game with dragon and ground combat like Divinity 2 Ego Draconis? Hell yes, i would love to play that. Building dragon knights into Divinity Original Sin 2? No. Maybe we will see a skill that has a dragon theme to it.
[Insert something funny here]

Only thing I don't like about this suggestion for a skill line is how specific it is. Playing a dragon knight would be cool, but that's the type of thing that you would build your whole charecter around. So for instance, if I wanted to be a death knight of sorts, I would just mix warfare with necromancy and bam I'm a death knight now. So for a dragon knight, I'd probably be an inquisitor with a focus on int and constitution, taking warfare for to be in the fight as well as pyro and focus more on tankyness and fire damage. Grab pheonix dive with the warfare skills that get converted to magic damage with a staff, then grab fire spells.
So I can think of a pretty workable dragon knightish build right now, so just imagine what we could do in the full release with all the spells. All we need is an armor mod to change your armor to some badass dragon armor and then we are even more set.
