Hey all, so I'm running the Gog version of the enhanced edition, ver 2.0.119.430(A). I am using the gog galaxy client, on a windows 7 64 bit machine in case any of that matters. I'm trying to install a super basic mod that's supposed to add a few extra henchmen for hire. The description of the mod says it's for the enhanced edition, so that shouldn't be the problem.Custom Henchmen - Final Fantasy 6 Anyway, so I basically can't find instructions anywhere for how to install mods on the gog version. Closest I could find was to put them in /Documents/Larian Studios/Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition/Mods, creating the Mods folder if it didn't exist (which it didn't). So I've tried multiple permutations of that, none of them work (nothing shows up in the mod menu in game, no new henchmen available), but now I can delete the Mods folder completely, and it recreates itself, including all versions of the mod I tried installing, whenever I start the game. Which, being that the mod is like 8 kb and currently does nothing is not a major issue, but it is quite irritating. Anybody got any ideas how I can make this work?

Extract the rar file and copy the applicable folder into your D:OS EE install folder. Mods distributed as pak files go in My Documents; those as files and folders go in the install folder.

I don't recall what the default install folder is, but it will be something like:
C:\GOG games\Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition\Data\Mods\Main\CharacterCreation\HenchManPresets

As for the files in the mods folder being recreated, make sure the mod is disabled in the game, if it shows up at all. Also, try deleting the contents of the mods folder, rather than the folder itself.

Do you have cloud saves enabled in Galaxy? Try exiting out of Galaxy, delete the contents of the mods folder, and then start the game from the executable. If that avoids the files being recreated, it could be Galaxy backing them up, and restoring them the next time the game is started.

Thanks, that worked. It gives an error message when I start the game, something about not being able to use the mod in multiplayer (and it still doesn't show up in the mod menu) but the henchmen are now in the hire list, and I wasn't planning to do any multiplayer anyway, so no biggie there.

It also looks like you're probably right about cloud saves being the culprit, because it didn't put the files back when I ran the game directly from the exe.

Thanks for the help!

The game might still work in multiplayer with the mod (if both people have it installed).
