Hello Larian Studio, after having played a lot in the demo of the game, I would like to bring my opinion. There are several very positive points and unfortunately a number more negative, especially concerning the gameplay.
I will post several topic, however I do not write well in English so sorry in advance ...
First of all, the game itself is nice to play, the atmosphere and graphics are excellent, the camera zoom well, even close up it stays beautiful and coherent. The story looks exciting, although I would rather have a brief summary of the game context (for those who do not know the series at all) and have at least a chronological benchmark to know where you stand in relation to Divinity 2 Ego Draconis. But, it's a detail.
Many interactions with the NPCs, a pity that we can no longer intervene in the debates, but I presume that with 4 PJ's it was more difficult to include. The basic PJ's seem to have well-constructed and very different BGs, with their own skills (and unfortunately, we will come back, not necessarily brilliant...). "Wicked" when one knows history are the Gentiles, but the intentions remain praiseworthy, and so on. It is well in the form and in the background in terms of history and style, with great freedom of action, for the truly excellent blow!
As for the object creation, you seem to have redone the system, but having not actually tested it I cannot talk about it. The previous one seemed to do nice things, but no more, I would like a system not too complex that really allows to create the equipment that we want, competing with that of the game and the best objects that We buy / loot. The same goes for theft: merging the steal and hooking is a great idea, it was too much in the previous game.
Now let's move on to the next: gameplay and how to play. So, for me, it hurts the ass to say it, but compared to everything I've said before, it's the complete opposite: no or just passable. In Bulk:
- The discretion a little abused on the edges not? Gender in combat, I pass behind the opponent and I hide before the one-shot ... Genre, the guy has not seen the character pass behind him. Finally, after that costs AP and powers, so ...
- Theft: some small points to review: you can only steal once a NPC, ok I understand the principle because the stock and the money come back after an hour, but serious once? Why not a given time during which one cannot steal it again. The flight itself is very difficult as the person moves all the time! You just have to know by heart what you want to steal, otherwise it is the galley with loads every 3 seconds or taking the head to poke a book ... It is impossible that he remains motionless, with a stopwatch, Time increases with skill?
- The random side of the objects bought / loot, serious since Diablo 3, is not prohibited this stuff? (Yes, a mage's stick with a +2 strength bonus and +1 in retribution ... The two-handed warhammer gives +1 intelligence and subtlety, thank you! No, it does not diversify the style of play, it's just boring and unusable.)
- One day, it would be nice for a developer to understand that when I buy a 500 PO item, I do not resell it 5 PO !!!! Ok, there's a talent for that, but just not! And also, a function to be able to reverse what you bought by mistake before closing the window, it could be cool.
- Same for the level crossing, have the right to put the points and remove them, before validating the level crossing, is it possible? Because there, the crisis of nerves when you click by mistake on the bad characteristic.
- Perseverance: not very useful as abilities, I tried once. Bof, little interest at the moment.
- The elf physics, superb artwork and generally the elves are normal in Divine Divinity, but there ... It's personal, but everyone I know who played the game is in mode: elves are just horrible. It's a shame, it's the best breed!
