I feel like this had to have been answered already, but Google and the forum search tool didn't find me the answer- will we be able to either import our saved game from the alpha or the character we created in the full release?

No, you wont be able to load EA-Save files with the release version of the game. And since characters are save bound you wont be able to import those into the release version either.

Thanks! That sorta sucks... I really like the character that I built and my party... guess I will have to look at some other options.

It's most likely due to the devs fixing bugs and updating/changing various game elements which might interfere with existing saves and characters.

Yes, there are various balancing changes, fixes and tweaks that would cause a problem keeping save compatibility. Also significant, there are 2 additional origin characters being added, which involve additions to dialogue and quests, NPC reactions, etc, as well as the undead as a playable race.

Thanks, Raze! I was wondering about the origins characters- good to know that there will be 2 more. That certainly helps replayability as well.

Probably not, due to the sheer amoutn of dialogue in the game. IF there are voices I'm personally betting they won't be for everything.

I hope so. I'm more than happy with combat soundsets and only bits of dialogue voiced, like in Neverwinter nights.

I sincerely doubt they'll have time for voice dialogues, but I hope they do smile

Besides the extreme amount of time and money necessary to voice all the dialog options I like the game better without voices anyway. Quite often game voices do not fit my imagination of the characters. Better to create the voices in your head.

That you cannot import EA characters into the release game is a pity but manageable. You can relatively quickly do the levels after you know the quests and fights. And perhaps optimize even.

There will be voice acting. Its going to be similar to DOS classic, only overhead text (like "Not in the mood for cheese? That exuces has more holes than a slice of this fine Gorgombert!") and important dialog. Since the initial word count was a bit high we might get more voice acting than expected.
