Coming back to the game after the second week of the EA release - back then I had a bit of a gripe with how the best dual-wielding weapons were daggers, with dual axes/dual swords having no real reason to be used. The Scoundrel tree in itself was a major boon to dual daggers, with the majority of skills available in the EA being exclusively for daggers, but there was very little reason to use any other 'dual' weapons besides wands. I did a quick scan of the skills and it seems that dual-wielding now gives a dodge bonus overall, which is better than what it had before (I forget exactly what, but I know it wasn't that) - but dodging itself still seems to be catered towards daggers and knives, as dexterity is the dodge-bonus skill, so it still seems like the dual weapon skill is catered more towards daggers than anything else.

I was wondering if there has since been any confirmed love for the other specific weapons, for launch? Like abilities that could only be used by certain weapons, such as the ability to throw axes/assault someone like a madman with them, greatsword-specific cleaving skills, etc?

Not known to me, sorry, speaking from the latest EA version. Would be a bit restrictive and perhaps difficult to balance? Weapons are different in some aspects, movement modificators for example, but I never saw a special skill related to a kind of weapon.

More than half of the Scoundrel tree is only available to use with daggers, which is surprisingly limiting for an otherwise flexible game, especially since most of those skills could theoretically be used without daggers - you just wouldn't get backstab for it. I was just trying figure out whether other weapons would get this kind of treatment, because, if not, that's already enough to make daggers the best dual-wield combo by a long shot.

If I remember correctly dual weapons spread their damage to all martial skills that use weapon damage.

It depends, as far as I remember certain skill only use the mainhand weapon.
