Larian Studios Forums Divinity: Original Sin 2 Divinity - Original Sin 2 - Bugs & Technical Problems Possible NPC bug that disables the ability to talk

So during my run of DOS2 I came across an NPC named Nicolas in the town of Driftwood here: https://imgur.com/a/V135g

Upon talking to Nicolas and exiting dialogue with him my character was unable to speak to any other NPC's or my companions. Reloading a previous save will fix the issue. I'm not sure if this bug is unique to my run of the game but I'd like to point this out just in case.

I got the same bug, reverting to a previous save fixed the problem.. guess we have to avoid him for now.

I got the same exact bug. I reloaded and tried again but the bug recurred.

I had this bug too. Funny enough, I went on to fight things and realized it had made my character unable to be damaged by literally anything. However it was still possible to attack things without triggering combat.

It was fun to abuse this for awhile but then it just felt like cheating so now I'm sad I will have to revert back to the old save in order to fix it. Oh well.

Unfortunately it took my 4 hours to realize what was going on since I talked to Nicolas with my non-face character. I kept playing talking with my face character, only when I got an yellow exclamation mark with one of my team mates did I realize that I can't talk with my main one.

This is a major cock-up. I bet a ton of people are going to loose a lot of time on this bug. I wonder how many won't have a save file to revert to. :(

Same for me! And this bug is a real game killer... Does this npc has any purpose? If not, I'm sure the fix is rather easy:

He's dead and has a note in his inventory with "Best Regards, Larian Support Team <3" I would love that :D

Yeah i'm getting the same issue, I unfortunately don't have a save before talking to the npc (that's what I get for only using quick saves) I've emailed Larian but haven't gotten a response yet.

Same problem here - my main Lohse has been corrupted and is in godmode. If there is a way to kill her and then resurrect I have a feeling this may solve the problem as a similar bug appeared in D: OS1. The issue was fixed by also killing and re-resurrecting the character.
