Is there any way change the contents of a chest or mob drop? Playing in tactician mode is brutal enough without RNGesus giving me endless greens from boss monsters and chests that contain purples on classic mode giving me more greens...

I accidentally reloaded a save once after opening a chest then did a battle before opening it again and got something different from what it had the first time I opened it. Save scummed a few times and got the same items both times I tried, reloaded then waited awhile and tried again and got something different.

Not sure how it works but it's slightly possible to save scum items, however I think it would be time consuming.

Some chests are random in the loot they have, others are static. But you can save scum both. If the chest is static and it has items that need to be identified, you can save scum the stats the item rolls when you identify it. I did this for a helm till it rolled 2 int, 2 hydro, 1 necro. Really helped my Inquisitor who uses a water staff right now. double dipped on the damage.

Also only found gloves and belt with thievery stats on it so far maybe only certain items can roll certain stats ?

You can save scum vendors, the gear pieces they sell will stay the same but the stats will change. So if theres some new boots that are a big armor upgrade but you really wish they boosted Pyrokinetic instead of Aerothurge then when you reload your save (you do quicksave before you talk to people every time right, not just me?) it might be just the item you want. Or you can sit there reloading compulsively until every item they sell is a perfect upgrade. Whatever makes you happy my brothers.

YOU CAN REROLL ITEM "type" by simply opening a number of containers BEFORE talking to the vendor hell i may aswell copy and paste my guide here as no one likes going to check links ...

Saw A post in general topics? asking how to do this for loot in chests on tactician "thats what i play on atleast"... Here is what i found out today but please feel free to add if you know more.

Ok so in order to reroll atleast some loot boxes i.e ones with epics i have found you need to open a container and that in turn rerolls the loot item in the epic item chest.

My farming EXAMPLE: In tower of braccus in the lever room behind the grate that chest has a epic item in it.
Now if you open a different number of other containers i.e the book shelfs in the same room it will reroll the epic item into another item type.
THAT means you open 1 book shelf you get a axe / you open 2 book shelfs that rerolls it into a crossbow.
For me myself i just opened 4 shelfs for the chest to have boots in it "epic boots" , im now rerolling / save scumming its stats, i dont need to loot another container to reroll its stats i simply need to save scum to do that and identify then. Yes you can save it after the item has changed to my boots for example but you might not want to look in the container as that might determine its stats thus failing its save scum reloading , simply just determine how many containers need to be opened before it changes to said boots for example.
