Unfortunately I went in the arena last and had already opened all locks in the prison. So where do I use his gifted key? Any hints please on how to proceed that quest?

Hello, did you ever figure it out? I don't even know where to go.

I still do not know what the key actually opened. But Beasts quest does continue in Amadias sanctuary yes. Seems it has no actual connection to the key apart from the fact that it probably helps you escape.

The quest log however does get updated and the key-entry is useless after that.

The key is used (at least where i used it) on the door above the necromancer vendors tent in Fort Joy Slums, where you teleport up and drop the ladder down just south of Magister Borris and the gate to the prison.

This will complete this part of Beast's questline.

So it's the same Key like the one from the "daughter / wrecked-magister-father" quest?
