I started with the Divinity series back in 2004 when I picked up Divine Divinity (after ignoring it for a couple of years due to the title). It completely blew me away with its epic story, amazing gameplay, fantastic 2D graphics, and with something else that I couldn't put my finger on at the time.

Having played each of Larian's Divinity titles since then, each game has had that certain something which I used to call the "Larian je ne sais quoi". But as I've grown older and I've watched studios rise, fall, and fizzle out into bankruptcy/EA or Activision acquisition, I've narrowed down what it is that Larian puts into each of their games which sets them apart; it's their heart. Larian opens themselves up, and like all great artists, they bear their heart and weave it into each game.

Having spent about 20 hours with D:OS2, I feel like they may have outdone themselves with this game. I'm not saying that there aren't bugs to be fixed and refinements to be made (but this is Larian, so we know all of that will be addressed), but the amount of love that was poured into every possible aspect of this project is overwhelming.

This post may get buried and lost forever here on the forums, but I wrote this with the hope that at least one person from Larian will see it. Thank you! Thank you for coming together and creating something that transcends the genre and the medium and is just magical.

I have been, and will always be, a Larian fan for life!

Your thoughts mirror my own. As gamers, we are blessed to have a studio like Larian that puts this much care in the end-product. In American baseball terms, this one has cleared the fences....

Absolutely! We only get a few super-talented and driven development studios of Larian's calibre. I feel lucky to have discovered them when I did, so I could experience their work as I aged along with the teams at Larian. I keep hoping that their latest title will be the one that pushes them into the limelight. I'd love to see what the team would do with a AAA budget, but more than that I'd just love to see millions of people discovering the singular experience that is the love that Larian infuses into every nook and cranny of these titles. Here's hoping D:OS2 will be the one!
