""Mismatched buddy" movies have a long and honorable cinematic history. You know the setup -- two characters with nothing in common who can't stand each other find themselves forced to work together by circumstances beyond their control. Most of the time this scenario is played out in the modern world -- you know, two cops, a cop and a criminal, etc. I don't think anyone's ever done it with two characters in a fantasy universe, though -- to say nothing of doing it in a game. That's the intriguing twist in Beyond Divinity, the not-quite-sequel-but-more-than-an-expansion for Larian Studios' Divine Divinity."
