Hey, everyone! I hope you're all enjoying the weekend and playing Divinity - Original Sin 2. I couldn't help myself and started playing around with the engine, and here are my first concept pictures from a mod I want to make.

While these are only concept pictures, while trying to learn the engine I do have a plan to try and make a mod based on the awesome crafting system.

Basically, I want to make a standalone mod that takes place in an apocalyptic dark fantasy setting. After a cataclysmic event, humans have been set back to a savage and stone age like time. At the bottom of the food chain, they are forced to hunt monsters and craft weapons and gear to survive. The mod will be heavily inspired by Kingdom Death: Monster, Monster Hunter, and Evil Islands.

I will make an official thread at some point, and I definitely be looking for people to help me out.

For now, enjoy the pictures and you are welcome to discuss ideas about the concept.

Looks pretty damn cool. Definitely seems possible, and there's probably enough assets to pull off an apocalyptic scenario. Hunting awesome monsters is also fun. Could make custom crafting recipes with their claws and teeth and stuff to make weapons and armor.

Thanks mate, and yes that's exactly what i'm thinking, using the crafting system as the most important role to get better stats. You will have to decide what you craft; armor or weapons, ranged or melee, and so on. and each big monster you kill will only give you so much to work with. You might also be able to scavenge materials and old relics. I really like the idea of adding more strategy/management to the game, if possible.

I very much like the idea of a turn-based Monster Hunter. Sounds cool! delight

Thanks guys!!! And yes like Monster Hunter, you would have a small village you can upgrade, gather survivors that unlock new technologies for crafting. As an example: will use the meat you get to eat and gain health and bonuses for the next fight or use it to upgrade the village and gain permanent new options? So many possibilities.

So I made some new concepts: https://imgur.com/a/H2h1E

Cannibalistic tribe?

I haven't decided what type of environments or biomes the world is set in, but varied biomes would probably be fun to explore with unique types of monsters to hunt, each with different risk/rewards.
