I have not sold or stored my gear anywhere on my current character. When I logged in the first time, his chest and weapon were gone. I got discouraged, posted on the steam forums and logged off.

Came back, checked to see that nobody had responded, so I am here. I logged back in, now my head piece, and ring is gone also.

This is a game killing bug for me, and I am very discouraged to play due to this.

did you talk to the thugs in the fort? if you lose to them in the game of cards they steal all your equipted gear as "payment"

I did talk to the card playing thugs in the port. Yes I did lose to them. When they told
Me to empty pockets I told them basically to try me. I don't know whether my gear disappeared then or not.
Am I gonna have to go back and kill them ? I may have to if they have my gear.

If they do, what sense does it make
That they can just "take your gear" without you allowing it

It's called "stealing", more or less...;) Yes, we'd all much prefer thieves to ask nicely before robbing us, and then to desist if we find it inconvenient, but thieves aren't known for their manners...;)

Although I never sat down with them, I dealt with them once by daring them to make me empty my pockets--at which time they left me alone--and then in an earlier game I refused to empty my pockets and they didn't like that so we fought and I ended them--permanently...;) So, there are a couple of ways to get through them without getting robbed.

"Lie down with dogs and get up with fleas, lie down with thieves and your purse may be relieved," etc.

Well that makes sense, but still. My helmet and ring dissapeared after I got in a confrontation with them. I said the same exact thing to them. I dared them to empty my pockets and all they said was something like " you'll survive well hear with that attitude!" I still think it's some sort of bug that's happening.
