Oh, right now I wish I known french, but I don't The site looks good, but I guess it's possible to translate it with google or something. But I saw something on the download section, a Fan Kit. What's that? I guess if I download it, it will be in french too?

Hi, You can download the fansite kit here as well. I plan to do an update of the website this week. Sorry that we didn't take care of this earlier, but development had priority.

Give me the links or a copy of what you would like to be translated in english. I can add that my translations are better than the translations with google. I will give the link of this thread to some people working at Focus. They will appreciate the good comments about their site. Barta

I thank you for that. I would like to read it all of course , but the Le Jeu stuff looks interessting. But I won't ask for translation of that, since it's 6 sides with loads of infos, but if there's any special interessting things there I would be very glad for a translation
And yes, the site looks very good.

Yes i agree with you, this site is good. I had a look at the section "le jeu" it's very huge ! For a new gamer who don't know anything about Divine Divinity, all the things are very well explained. The writer describes very well the game in different sections : "The universe", "The characters", "The development of the character" and "The graphisms".
But if you have read all the interviews about Beyond and all the "Peek of the Week", you already know everything. However all these informations are very well classified and you can find an answer easyly.
I hope that this site will have a good influence on the french gamers. For me, it is too late, i am already convinced !
And sorry, i can translate all this stuff, it's really too long. But i can translate some parts.

I wouldn't ask you to translate that much either. About some part translations I know of nothing, since I don't know what anything is about But what's this standing about the characters?

I could help translating things too, if you want me to. Just PM me the stuff (or a link to the stuff) that you want me to translate and I will.

Well, my French is not perfect, but since you guys are dying to get more info, I might aswell give it a shot
As Barta said, it is way too huge to translate all of it, but if there are multiple people who speak French here and there is some interest for it maybe everyone can translate some of the more interesting parts
How about the description of the acts?
The world of Beyond Divinity is based on that of its predecessor. But, unlike Divine Divinity, the story of Beyond Divinity is divided into four acts. Each of those acts takes place in a different dimension and also offers a different environment, and ofcourse different creatures.
Act 1: The citadel of the lost hote: Samuels headquarters. It is in this dimension that your two characters, the Death Knight and the hero, meet eatchother and start their journey to escape from the prison for which they are forced to work together.
Act 2: A new dimension, a new environment. The people living in these lands can provide you with tons of useful information which can help you to complete your quests. But don't trust every person and creature you encounter...
Act 3: You will face the Ranaars in this dimension. They posess very strange powers....
Act 4: This dimension takes place in places haunted by creatures such as the academy... it is difficult to say any more without revealing too much...

1- I am used to translate english in french but i am not good for translating french in english !
2- You can see that there is nothing new and that we already know all these things.
3- They have made a confusion between the Marked One in Divine Divinity (they call him Elected One) and the hero in Beyond Divinity The hero in BD is not the Marked One but somebody else.
4- Translation
Characters: Creation and Development
With the difference of the majority of the role playing games, Beyond Divinity does not restrict you to one class of character chosen even before beginning the adventure. In Beyond Divinity, you really create your character as playing, progressively with your evolution, and according to YOUR preferences. Your are always free to develop any skill or characteristic of your character if you wish to do it (if you have access to it). Such as for example starting to develop the ultimate warrior, then to only concentrate on the skills of the wizard if you want to do it.
Customize your hero
At the beginning of the game, you can choose the characteristics of the human character that you are playing: physical parameters (sex, size, stoutness, face, skin, hair…) AND basic skills of this character (basic class). You can choose the basic characteristics of your character (strength, intelligence, dexterity, constitution, speed…) by distributing the points at your disposal or select one of the "standard" characters which are proposed to you.
This phase of creation offers to you a range of possibilities much larger than in Divine Divinity, thanks to the passage to the 3D characters and the new functions of the skill system.
Play 2 radically opposite characters
Their souls linked by the destiny's chains, two radically different characters will have to overcome many tests to gain their freedom. One is human, the other is a Deathknight. All opposes them, except the will to tear off of the destiny's claws. If one of them dies, the other will die too.
The Elected One The Servant Of The Divine One: Founder member of the Order of the Divine, plague of the necromancians and the wizards, he is the hero of the events of Divine Divinity which took place 20 years before. Real hero, his goal is to fight the evil by all the possible means. During a terrible confrontation with a powerful necromancian, he is projected in a demonic universe, deprived of all his capacities, and he is soulforged to a Deathknight. His destiny is to spend eternity with this creature of evil. If there is a chance to break this spell, it is worth to be tried.
The DeathKnight We do not know a lot of things about the Deathknight, except that his personality is radically in opposition to that of the Elected One. The magic spell launched to the Elected one made of him, for an obscure reason, his forced ally. His only common point to the base with the Elected One is to not accept this situation, and to do all that is in his capacity to break this magic spell (unfortunately, it does not have enormously capacities at the beginning…;).
Need for reinforcements? Summon creatures
Even if some inhabitants of the Beyond Divinity's world express sympathy to you, none of them will join you to fight directly against the demonic forces. On the other hand, skills, linked to specific items, allow you to summon creatures which will join you when you will need it: the summoning dolls allow you to reveal a creature which will fight with you when you call it. Its limited operating range does not allow it to follow you in its alive form during your travels, but the summoning doll, remains available in your inventory all the time. It is possible to make evolve these creatures by equipping them with the weapons and other items in your possession.

Yes, you're right, we know this from before, but thanks for taking the time anyway. About the elected one: The Elected One The Servant Of The Divine One Looks like they're meaning that the hero in BD is the Elected One, whom is a servant to our hero in DD, the Divine One. So the Elected One served the Divine One for 20 years untill the Elected One got dragged into the BD world. But then again: Founder member of the Order of the Divine, plague of the necromancians and the wizards, he is the hero of the events of Divine Divinity which took place 20 years before. This could be an confusing sentence(sp?) When looking at the topic of this text, The Elected One The Servant Of The Divine One, you would think it's the hero from BD they're talking about. But still, this could explain the word Order of the Divine. Then they tell that the Elected One got dragged into this new place. So in other words, our new hero in BD is the Elected One, sevant of the Divine One? Or am I talking nonesence?

That is right. The hero in is the servant of The Divine one. Evildoers beware!

In DD "the Marked One" is translated by "l'Elu" or "the Elected One". At the end of DD, the marked one becomes the Divine.
In Beyond, the hero is somebody else, but it's true that he is a servant of the Divine.
We have to wait to read the novella or to play the game to know more about the hero.
