Dubbing is such a joke.
Overhere they use subtitles. But in France and Germany they dub movies and things.
It's such a big laugh to see actors you know suddenly speak with a completely different voice and in another language.
Also, the language has changed. But not the names of the moviecharacters, the names of cities, the currency, ...
It's sooooo silly/stupid.

I've once seen the german Derrik speaking Chinese ! (Derrik is a german series of criminal / detective stories in the TV.)

Another thing was Arnold Schwarzenegge4r ("Terminator") speaking lines of the Terminator Movie in his Vienna accent ! I nearly burst of laughter ! (He actually comes from Austria / Österreich, and I think he comes there from Vienna / Wien, but I'm not fully sure.)

Yes... I seen some episodes of Derrik.
Horst Tappert or so was his name I think. He died last year I believe. It's the most popular German crimi ever and has been sold to a lot of countries worldwide.

Anime that I like? Hmmm.... My 'experiences' aren't that broad with this particular genre, but I guess I could name a few!

Let's see, one thing to note is that only a scant few (and I mean very few) of all the anime I own has english voice acting in it (Would I have it any other way? No way! ).

The first series I ever found was Tenchi Muyo!, curious and dazed after watching it on the Cartoon Network I soon found myself bereft of all conscious thought and immediately sought it out in it's subtitled form, and I wasn't dissapointed. It's a decent series with a few quirks here and there. I liked it atleast. It was a good first excursion.

The next few were of course, Cowboy Bebop and Outlaw Star, both pretty decent in their own right, my first experience with each was also as english dubs on the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. And Cowboy Bebop is hands down one of my favourites so far.

In my collection is also Weiß Kreuz, which was pretty good. Patlabor is also in there, but I haven't had time to watch all of it so far. I also have another called Serial Experiments Lain, which is awesome, it's a philosophical type anime so there are no 'real' action sequences, but it doesn't even need them.
There's also the Blue Seed anime I found not long ago, high marks from me, it just has a nice feel to it. A few other series I'm building on is Wild Arms and .hack//Sign (I felt I had to watch .hack//Sign because I'm currently into playing .hack//Infection on the PS2, and Wild Arms is just goofy fun ).

Then there's the recently arrived on my doorstep Inuyasha DVD complete series, which is pretty cool even though I haven't finished watching all of it. Compared to it's english dubbed version on the voice acting alone it gets high marks from me. I've been spoilt on Japanese audio for the rest of my life, but you don't see me complaining.

There's also a few anime movies I have laying around like; Vampire D & Vampire D: Bloodlust, Spriggan, Perfect Blue, Ninja Scroll, Demon City Shinjuku, and a few others. I must highly recommend Princess Mononoke, that's just a cool movie, and the english version has quality voice acting too.

Well, I may or may not have missed some things, but I try to be accurate!

Heh. Sorry for the post if it's alittle odd. But...I guess that's how I think - oddly.

@Setharmon: Yes, you're right about Derrik.

I didn't realized he has died ? Hm, must've slipped through my mind ...

The german "Tatoert" is also very popular, and new series coming from east germany unknown before the "Wiedervereinigung".
