Hey all, just wondering if this is possible.

I don't mean in the sense of dragging the order of the portraits on the side - I mean changing the order of the characters in 'party management'. At least in coop, it appears as though the person furthest to the left will always get chosen as the preference for NPCs to talk to, if an NPC has reason to contact you on their own (and perhaps even single-player, haven't checked).

The problem is that the person furthest to the list in my group of characters is the character that has the worst stats for conversing, and isn't who I intended to be first, and I'm not even sure why he's first, when he was the last character I made.

When playing with my friend, literally every conversation that an NPC initiates defaults to the worst possible character for it, and I wanted to know if anyone knew of a method to reorder them? We haven't haven't had a single instance of an NPC talking to us that wasn't to this specific character, despite the fact he's generally the furthest away.

Actually, now that I think about it, even the cat was (is, since I checked previous save files) following this character

Usually, NPCs who address player characters without being prompted just initiate dialogue with whoever's closest to them (or whomever they see first? I think it might depend on the encounter). Are you sure that's not what's going on?

It's definitely not what's going on. My friend and I each use two characters. I play melees, he plays ranged characters. For the most part, even though I'm always in front, NPCs will not only go towards my friend, but the secondary character he has following him, whom is always the furthest away. I'm almost certain it's related to party management in some way.

This is assuming that the NPCs are contacting us on their own, and not because of a direct result of a character's interaction (like talking to the specific character that healed them, or something).

I have also noticed this.. my character has max persuasion and im often the closest (im a summoner but my max summoning pet always gets unleashed first in a fight due to my wits and i have the best defensive stats on our team) i was also the one who created the room/server/whatever... despite this im somehow last on the list and whenever me and my friends move forward.. despite me being in the front they never talk to me.. rather they talk to my rogue/scoundrel friend who is almost always behind me.. even running past me to talk to him.. despite my character having max persuasion.

also to add.. like cameron he was also the one the cat chose to follow.. despite me being first on the list.. and being the group's summoner.. and of course i was the one leading the group forward so was in front of them
