Looking for some advice on how to build a crossbow based char with some magic thrown in..an undead with contamination seems good

But huntsman itself seems bad?

I don't really like stealth based characters so is it best to opt for something different.. And what complements crossbow users?

Spell wielding crossbow works because of how Huntsman work. In that case, you will want Huntsman over Warfare while still going high Fin with wit. Sure you won't deal as much damage with crossbow but because huntsman also work with magic and that it works like crit damage (say you deal 150 in total and have 20% high ground advantage, that becomes 180), your spell will still deal damage if you need them.

Another idea is to just use spell for the buffs and recovery then go Wit-Fin with maxed warfare. Grab elemental ranger and make it rain blood on the enemy or something so you benefit from extra surface damage.

So, If I wanted to be a mainly physical Damage Dealer with a Crossbow, it's best to focus on Warfare and Finesse?

If I wanted to supplement the bow with some Necro Spells, that would work, as it also scales off warfare and deals Phys Damage?

If I wanted to use Geo Spells, that would be better off boosting huntsman for the High Ground bonus?

I think I got it

yeah, Warfare for physical damage including necromancy or go with huntsman for general spell.

However, if you plan on going geo, you won't get much out of either. Some of the stronger Geo spell don't benefit from huntsman because they are self-cast and target nearby stuffs. If you want to deal damage with magic, go for aero where you can use spells like Chain lighting which is ridiculously strong.
