Do not explore the first island and kill things or kill things that you might have to do in a quest later on.

Or you will be stuck and not able to kill shikers in act 2 after Puting in more than 20 hours in the game.

Can you elaborate? I explored ahead a lot, and killed more then a few creatures before I got quests for them. Nothing game breaking happened to me so perhaps you are missing something, or it is a specific quest? If you can specify what it is you can't move beyond perhaps someone can give a solution.

I killed the two shriekers at the coast on the island with the helm and completed the last fight before getting in to rex cave to get the wand. After getting the wand i went and befriended the dragon so did not get his wand. So when i went to go to leave for the boat it was just that leaving for the boat and now i have no way of killing shriekers and am now stuck and can not go any further in the game with a shrieker in my way.

So the game wont let me progress because i messed up and explored and killed things when i should not have because they were tied to a quest that i need to do for the event or quest to progress in game.

Big over sight on larian side of things.

There is another purging wand on the island, and if you befriend the Dragon he should kill the shriekers just approach them and when they try to kill you dragon will kill them.

I think he's talking about wandering into the fight between the rebel leader and the magisters and either not being strong enough to win or leaving. This kills the rebel leader and the sad woman at the camp won't remove your chains meaning yiu will only have one without (if you win the arena) making it very difficult to get off the island.

General rule of thumb, just because you can escape Fort Joy very quickly, doesn't mean you should. Try to be at least lol 4 and talk to the sad woman as soon as you can.

You can lure Alexander to the rebels before you initiate the dialog that you're ready to attack.

There are 2 purging wands in act one plus the helm. That is enough for 12 and there are only 6 shriekers. You don't actually need to destroy any of the shriekers anyway as you can either
befriend Slane the dragon who will kill them
or
Cloke and Dagger past them


You don't need a purging wand in act 2 at all
You will learn source vampirism as part of the main quest and the range is always sufficient
I think you do need them on Nameless Isle but there are hundreds lying around and you can skip that bit anyway if you want.

There are some people you possibly shouldn't kill in Act One (Sahelia for example) but they only block side quests later on.

I don't believe you can scupper your main quest progress by killing the wrong people - just lose some incidental stuff.

Whaaaat ?! I don't understand what OP is trying to say.
So :
- he got the cursed helm near Gareth.
- then he went to kill the 2 shriekers at the gates of Alexandar's fight.
- then, he says "after getting the wand", so he has 1 wand.
So wtf is he talking about ? He killed the 2 shriekers, he can leave act1...

And in act2 you get source vamp.

You don't, actually!

I'm assuming you're talking about the Elf sanctuary. You can go around the side of the Elf place and there's a ledge you can teleport to with C&D, Tact Retreat, etc. and then throw the rope down to easily navigate up and down that ledge.

I stumbled in there by accident on my first play-through and saw that rope coiled up on the ground. Instantly knew I could teleport up there and sure enough, it worked!
